Most salons don’t price the complexity of a cut. A haircut is a haircut whether it takes 10 min or 40. If you don’t think you need a fancy salon to do your trim go to a hair cutter. |
| I would say $60-80 for a women’s cut with a basic wash and style. But every stylist had their own rate for a haircut and it has nothing to do with what kind of cut or style you want. I’ve never once had a stylist give me a lower rate than what they normally charge because I “only want an inch off” or I leave with wet hair. |

Didn’t you ask for an estimate first? |
Who asks for an estimate for a haircut? It’s not a car repair. |
|
I pay $65 which I consider low

$175
Before tip For the owner TELL ME WHY I PAY THIS! |
I just do hair cuttery unless it's a whole new style. It's about 40-45$ with wash, cut, blow dry. No need to pay 100$+ for someone to trim an inch or two. |

I don’t know why you pay it. If the person is really, really great, and your hair is complicated, then keep doing it. Otherwise find someone who is cheaper. |
| Around here? $80+ |
Yeah, asking for an estimate is weird. Don’t they have a price list on their website? If not I would just ask in advance what do you charge? Did you not do that? That is on you. |
+1. My stylist charges $85 for a haircut that takes her a full hour to do. |
NP- it's good advice though. Learning to do this saves a LOT of money. I personally cannot figure out men's hair but a straight line trim for women is something anyone can master. Use that money for something else! |
A lot of salons post prices or have a price booklet. It can get waffly for surcharges for hair length, caliber of stylist etc. |
