The Democratic National Committee.

It so tracks that a MAGA would be advocating for stealing.

It does, doesn't it? They are such scum, like their Dear Leader.

I love what he is doing. And I love that its hurting people I don't like.

Yes, we know you're evil. No need to remind us.

I can’t imagine how you are finding stores that don’t have self check out. That seems really limiting.

I too was amazed at how it’s quite easy to find these kinds of small businesses here- seems there are many farm markets and orchards and Amish/Mennonite run establishments with great products and great prices. The only limiting factor is most of these kinds of places are a bit out of the way which is fine but the worst is they are never located in the same area. So I just make less frequent but bigger trips and stock up more. What I spend in 30 minutes extra time or gas is covered by savings in other areas (cheaper prices, better quality, supporting local businesses, etc). I have extra time & extra shelf/freezer space though & that extra $5 in gas is not going to break me so if I didn’t have that then it may be more limiting & not worth it. I have been in the place in life where the only stores were big box or out of convenience that’s all I shopped at. I look at it as I’ve tried both ways and at this season of my life it’s worth it to me to spend the extra time and shop local. In other seasons of my life it wouldn’t even be a blip on my radar to go farm market hunting. That’s life.

Farm markets on the farm, Amish/Mennonite run grocers & meat markets, local small business type places. Lots of these places don’t really advertise, ask around or you can start here. When you visit one place ask if they know of any others. There’s a whole network around here of these old farms and small local businesses.

I have never ever ever stolen from a store or self-checkout. But then again, I have been called a goodie-two-shoes on more than one occasion 🤷‍♀️

It's pretty typical/normal.

I don't steal, but I can't understand all the bootlicking for these big-box retailers in this thread

It's not about them. It's about your personal integrity.

But on a practical note, the more loss they encounter the more they increase the prices for all of us.

I think that's bad. I don't steal. You're supposed to scan the stickers of produce so they can't type in the wrong code.

Because it’s better environmentally to buy plastic trash bags than to reuse grocery bags?

You're buying a brown paper grocery bag, not a plastic one.

Pp you responded to:

If I don’t have plastic bags from the supermarket to use as trash bags, then I have to buy a box of small plastic trash bags from the store. I don’t see how a box of plastic trash bags is more environmentally friendly than plastic grocery bags. I’m not buying a box of brown paper grocery bags for my trash.

FOFA.

Right? They literally record your picture and name (via debit, credit, and/or loyalty card use) every single time you use those machines. They keep a running tally of shit you steal and bust you once it hits a certain figure.
