Self Check Out Thievery

See, I'm of the opinion that taking bags without pay isn't stealing. They are used to facilitate the transaction. I need them to carry the product. Never mind the fact that the mark up on them is 10000%

It's still stealing. Are you that poor? And how hard is it to throw some bags in the trunk of your car?

These threads always come up and there are always a few of us that come on to maintain that we don't and wouldn't. Still true. So disgusted by fellow humans these days.

Never. That is stealing. It’s never worth it to get caught. Even celebrities have been caught stealing a lipstick or something. It’s just not worth it. We are not that poor that we need to steal. Teach your kids better.

I prefer self checkout, too. I’ve seen many mistakes made by cashiers that cost me money.

I can’t imagine how you are finding stores that don’t have self check out. That seems really limiting.

It is irrelevant what you think. The law says you have to pay for it.

You don't get to pick and choose which laws you follow.

The law also says you must obey the speed limit, which you don't. So much for picking and choosing, hypocrite.

Because it’s better environmentally to buy plastic trash bags than to reuse grocery bags?

They also know who is stealing and will let you get away with it until it reaches an amount that is a felony. Like they'll keep the video evidence. Then they will prosecute.

Sure, the same Giant that lets homeless people walk off with $500 grocery carts all the time keeps tabs on a single individual miscoding vegetables over months and months and is just waiting to pounce.

1) stop making shit up.
2) you are welcome to attempt to walk out with $500 worth of groceries to see if you can get away with it too, keyboard warrior.

LOL. You mad because I proved what a fool you are.

I love self checkout but I don’t pay the dumb bag fee either if I forget my reusable bags.

Sometimes I hit 0 accidentally. I will enter a larger number on my next visit. Yes, I can keep track of it mentally.

I don't miscode items.

However, the stores knew this would happen when they went to mostly self check out. If enough revenue is lost, I assume they'll hire some cashiers back.

Its about integrity not class.

I thought it was proven that it wasn't...or at least isn't unless you use the bag a ton:

But the governments of states that have allowed this don't care. Virtue signaling FTW.

Once or twice I may have rung up organic bananas as non-organic ones, but only if the store is out of the conventional ones or if they are inedibly green.

Not when the store has no integrity it isn't.
