As a former preschool teacher, you have the right to voice that you do not want the male teacher changing your child. Make it known to the teacher and Director, and if your child is in after care, make sure that your wishes are respected.

How do you avoid male nurses, urgent care workers, pediatricians, X-ray technicians, doctors, fire fighters, police officers, the list goes on? If no male may ever care for your child, how do you propose to move through the world if you need help in an ER, an urgent care, or from EMTs, etc.?

DP but both can be true. Stepfathers can be abusers and male daycare workers can be abusers. If my kid is in day care I don’t want a male daycare provider and nothing you say is going to change my mind. Hope that helps

Maybe for the families who split every single household responsibility 50/50 down the middle, men are well-versed and do this a lot, but from what I've seen, they hate it and only do it b/c of their wife bugging them or they are the only parent available. You could not pay my spouse to change some other relative or strangers' kid's diapers.

Kids aren’t generally alone with doctors so the potential for abuse is much lower. Parents or other medical personnel are almost always present.

The best gyno I ever had (suffered some trauma and had to undergo surgery that required frequent check ups) was male. I went to him for years even when it was just for routine care. They always had a female nurse or MA in the room with us. I felt bad tying them up and said I was comfortable being alone, but they said it was for the doctor's protection too.

I had a male MFM make a wildly inappropriate sexual "joke" to me but I have also been subjected to really bad psychological abuse by a female midwife culminating in a retaliatory CPS report. Both sexes can be awful.

Some of the doctors who helped me the most were male. I've been given personal cell phone numbers by doctors twice, one ER doc and one OB, both were male Boomers
