Allan Lichtman predicts Harris will win

To be fair, low information voters thought he was Irish.

He is Irish via his mom but Obama was in a once a lifetime talent similar to Bill Clinton and besides the banks already endorsed him and sat down with him in Sept 2008 before the economy “tanked”. He promised to bail them out and not jail them in exchange for an endorsement. A Republican McCain presidency wouldve been more likely to not let them out free in my opinion

People like the idea of Kamala. But the actual Kamala is incredibly socially awkward and apparently a very nasty boss.

My god. And I take it this is the narrative the media is running with, that’s she’s a bad boss because she’s thorough?!

No, it's because she doesn't do the homework, she doesn't read what her staff gives her, and then she looks like an ass in public and chews her staff out for her laziness.

There are MANY sources that have reported that.

I like Harris. The more I learn about her, the more I like. I was focused on other candidates during the 2020 primaries, and Vice Presidents are generally invisible. I'm pleasantly surprised. Of course, she's helped by the fact that "not ancient" and "fairly normal" are like a breath of fresh air in this country.

Every single decision, choice and action that has taken place since the moment Biden announced he was standing down as been flawless. The rollout of the Harris campaign, getting the other potential Dem contenders to line up behind her rather than challenge her, the execution of the first speeches from Atlanta etc, the Convention, the fundraising, the choice of Walz - flawless. Absolutely flawless.

If what we have seen of her execution since the end of June represents her executive abilities, then I don't care if she is a nasty boss. She is getting it done.

+1 And someone who is socially awkward doesn’t make a hundred calls in a day and get everyone in the entire party on their side. This is fiction.

Let us see how we all feel in 2028. I get why we need Kamala in 2024. I am just not sure she's that awesome person everyone thinks she is yet. I think she's definitely who we need over Trump but again, it isn't exactly rocket science why that is. Voting someone in with confidence is a wholly different than that person being awesome. Only time will tell. NOBODY can say whether she will be good or how good she will be. No way this early on.

"It's stressful to brief her, because she's read all the materials, has annotated it and is prepared to talk through
it," said one former aide.

Sounds like the opposite of someone who doesn’t do the homework.

I am sick of this crap. Trump could not stay on message if it were stapled to him but nobody gives a damn about him. She has had two successful terms as CA attorney general and you don't do this by being incompetent. Your comments are nothing but misogynistic crap by jealous and envious glass bowls like you. Name your sources!

? do you reeeeeaally want to go there? Yea, let's go there.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/nov/29/donald-trump-fact-free-presidential-briefings-cia-report

The 45th president’s chaotic and freewheeling style, and his disinclination to read anything put in front of him, resulted in the presidential daily briefing, or PDB – a crucial security update including information about potential threats to the US – being delivered more regularly to Vice-President Mike Pence instead, the report states.

By the middle of Trump’s term in office, his briefings were reduced to two weekly sessions of 45 minutes each. Briefings were discontinued altogether after the deadly insurrection of 6 January, which was sparked by Trump urging his supporters to march on the US Capitol in a failed attempt to overturn his defeat by Joe Biden.

The analysis comes in a 40-page unclassified update to the CIA’s Getting to Know the President, a publication that chronicles efforts to brief presidents-elect through transition periods and into office for every administration since 1952.

“For the intelligence community (IC), the Trump transition was far and away the most difficult in its historical experience with briefing new presidents,” the new chapter, posted to the CIA website, concludes.

James Clapper, a former director of national intelligence, said Trump “was prone to fly off on tangents”, according to the CIA report, and said “there might be [only] eight or nine minutes of real intelligence in an hour’s discussion”.

Additionally, Clapper said, while “the IC worked with evidence, Trump ‘was fact-free – evidence doesn’t cut it with him’.”

dp.. I don't think she's thaaat great, either, but she's leagues above Trump.

I used to live in the Bay Area when she was DA. I didn't vote for her. But, I will come Nov.

“Some said Harris would refuse to analyze briefing materials set forth by employees but then scold them if she appeared unprepared.

"It's clear that you're not working with somebody who is willing to do the prep and the work," one former staffer told the newspaper. "With Kamala you have to put up with a constant amount of soul-destroying criticism and also her own lack of confidence. So you're constantly sort of propping up a bully and it's not really clear why."

As we’ve seen with the way the media beats Biden into the ground (and Obama! Tan suit! Dijon mustard! And for Hillary Clinton? FFS butteremails!), President Harris could make healthcare free and the media would still have 48-52% of the country convinced she was gifted the White House and sucked all around.

I like Harris. She's smart, she's competent. She's already held high office and she understands how government works. I thought her DNC speech was great. She seems to be pretty level-headed and knows how to laugh. She's not cruel, doesn't make fun of the disabled, isn't a racist, and notably, is not insane. What's not to like.

I am formally over the idea that the President needs to be some miraculous changemaker type. Kamala Harris will make incremental changes for the better and keep America on a stable path. If she can get reproductive rights through Congress and some mild gun control I'll be pretty happy.

It's amazing how no man is ever a nasty boss, or that it doesn't matter, when these discussions are had.

The Republicans were/are so hopping mad about this. I actually think they believed that the public was going to rise up in outrage. It was hilarious. One interesting effect of the Trump years is that people really don't care about so many things that would have been total dealbreakers a decade ago. It's one reason why Trump isn't doing well. No new material. Sad.
