What procedures have you done as a 40-year-old?

43
Botox
Small amount of hyper dilute radiesse in lower face (I have a thin face and this helps - it’s very discreet)
Picolaser once or twice a year
Skin Tight laser quarterly
I’ve used tretinoin for 20 years for acne and it helps with wrinkles

Planning on upper bleph and lower face lift in 50s

40 and I developed harsh 11’s in my late 30s so I got Botox 3 times. I also use tretinoin .1 nightly (my skin doesn’t seem affected by it). My feeling is that Botox solved 1 problem (forehead wrinkles and 11’s) and created another (droopy brows, frozen upper face). To me it was worth it and I was going to continue with Botox anyway. Then I saw on Reddit skincare that you can just put medical tape there and it will have the same effect. Which for me, is true. So now I use $3 medical tape instead of Botox.🤣

I'm 40.

The cheapest, easiest thing I did for my skin was quit drinking a couple years ago. I also started using tretinoin last year. My skin looks much glowier and it reduced my deeper wrinkles.

I got my first Botox earlier this year. I couldn't get it in my forehead as I have heavy hooded eyes and need to raise my eyebrows to see well, so I got what my injector called a 'Botox brow lift.'. I loved the results but still would have liked to do something about the forehead lines.

Long story short, I am booked for an upper and lower bleph (lower with CO2 laser) and a lateral brow lift in July. Amazingly, insurance will cover the upper bleph and I will pay out of pocket for the rest. I am very excited!

Botox - armpits only

I'm 57 and haven't done anything thus far. My skin is in great shape, and I chalk this up to genes and long-term use of Retin-a. Eventually I want to do a lower bleph.

I do tretinoin and I did a laser but I don’t think the laser did anything. It did make me really red so I know it did something, theoretically.

53 and no procedures chemicals etc.
I do make my own vitamin c water to apply anti aging daily.
The less I mess with my looks, the better. Hair and skin in great shape.

Maybe it’s a maga thing - the fake look

There is a massive difference between using medical grade skincare (like tretinoin, lasers, and even Botox) and the fake MAGA look. It's ignorant to think otherwise.

I used to feel the way you do. Then I realized that most of the women that I thought looked great but natural in their 50s, 60s and beyond were in fact seeing cosmetic dermatologists and having the odd eye lift or facelift.

A woman with bad skin but bleached blonde hair and tons of make up will look major MAGA than a woman with Botox but no/minimal makeup and a 'coastal grandma' outfit.

I will say that filler generally pushes even the most low maintenance woman into MAGA fake territory

Did you have your surgery? How are you liking your results?

Hi there! I had the surgery 8 days ago, so too soon to see what everything will look when the swelling goes down. I did not bruise much at all but I do have swelling in the mid face (I guess from the lower bleph) so I still look quite 'surgical'. I definitely look younger though.

The initial recovery was pretty rough. It was 3 or 4 days of mostly being locked in the guest room and icing my face, applying wet compresses, etc. I guess I knew that there would be staples in my head (from the lateral brow lift) but the reality of it is pretty jarring. The upper eyelid stitches came out Wednesday of last week and the staples in my head (!) will come out this coming Monday.

The actual upper bleph was not painful at all. The CO2 laser was rough for the first couple of days but healed quickly. The skin looks rejuvenated but I still have fine lines under the corner of my inner eye. Probably I would skip it if I had a chance to do it again. It's also significantly more painful than a sunburn, which is what they say it feels like.

I will update in a couple of weeks when my face settles.

I'm a natural beauty. Good genetics I guess. At 47 I have zero wrinkles. Never done botox or fillers. I have 3 teenage children. I do yoga, pilates and barre and drink a lot of water, mostly vegetarian diet. I do wear sunscreen almost every day, but I do lay out to soak up sun during vacations in France and Italy.

At 41 started with IPL and a little Botox. Did CO2 in late 40’s.
