What procedures have you done as a 40-year-old?

What surgeon did you use? I really want to get a lower bleph.

How??? I have those too and they really age me.

I’m 39 and just do Botox. Will never do fillers.

And whatever Nicole Kidman and Renee Zelwegger did to their faces should be illegal.

ICYMI: those celebs have access to the best docs and the best treatments, yet they look disfigured.

I agree. Presumably there is a minute amount of filler that looks natural and good and unnoticeable but if there is, it clearly can quickly be overdone. I assume plenty of people who I think look good have filler that I can’t pinpoint, but the majority of filler not only is noticeable, but makes the person look worse. It turns everyone face into the same puffy, pillowy face somehow.

I waited like 6m for my first cosmetic appointment, but they saw me faster for a skin check and I didn’t see the 6m as a big deal.

40 and I just do tretinoin but I’m excited to try a laser in the fall for broken capillaries/rosacea. I think it’s IPL, I honestly forget. But the doc said not to do it in summer.

- Lip filler
- Microneedling
- Tried laser on my temple veins - didn’t work
- Lipo on my underarm bulges (they were big despite me being skinny, and it was fat not breast tissue)

I’m 41.

It is so sad that we talk about ourselves like this. Women and men all over the world are trying to "look younger" to keep up with each other. We see a celebrity with tons of surgery and botox and think "wow she looks great!" We just can't love ourselves as we are.

I’m the PP who got underarm lipo. I don’t think it made me look younger! However it did make my clothes more comfortable, especially things like swimsuits and sports bras that would dig into my armpit bulges. If you don’t have this I don’t expect you to understand!

Anyone know if IPL or VBEAM is better for broken capillaries/redness?

Where are you getting the IPL done?

I'm 54 and generally am only minimally interested in plastic surgery or med spas, but I do use tretinoin and believe it's one of the few skin creams that really works. I got IPL to address visible capillaries on my cheeks and was underwhelmed with the results. I do really want to have an upper & lower blepharoplasty. My mom eventually had drooping eyelids so bad they were blocking her vision...I have the same eyelids.

Adapalene gel (better for sensitive skin!), IPL laser, and an actual skincare routine.

Any online telehealth platform will be only too happy to prescribe things like tretinoin. You do not need to be seen in person.

Re capillaries: I did Vbeam. It defininitely helped. However, just a warning, you WILL look horrible for several days afterwards. Had it done on a Friday afternoon; looked seriously weird and swollen and blotchy until at least Tuesday.

Lipo 360 at 45, a game-changer, but nothing else.

So you've had lipo, too, then.

I started getting Dysport about a year ago at 42. I do my 11s and a brow lift. I really like Dysport because it makes me look more awake and alert, but doesn’t freeze my forehead the way Botox would.

I might try IPL for broken capillaries at some point. No interest in filler.

Speaking as a guy in my early 40s, I have no idea what is women’s obsession with “skincare.” I’ve never seen a woman who had either good skin or bad skin—it’s literally all just skin.

90% of looking good is just diet, exercise and clothes. If you’re overweight, maybe get lipo or start popping Adderall (or take Ozempic – don’t know about that one). Maybe get a boob job if you need one. Everything else is BS.
