Help me understand Republican women in their 30s and 40s

This becomes problematic during marriage, raising kids, and career. I don’t see that as sustainable.

According to this chart, the question isn’t why US women vote republican, it is why so many have shifted left in the past decade or so.

Republican woman. The Republican Party speaks to a much broader range of my concerns. The democratic Party has less to offer. I'm interested in lower taxes, lower crime, a secure border, girls being able to have sports on an equal playing field, and things like respect for the American flag and military service. I'm very against terrorism, including Hamas, and I'm in favor of Israel being able to exist. The democrats offer me abortions. Lots of abortions, with greater access to abortions. It's a grim vision for the women of America.

+1. Clearly the GOP is not representing the interests of this group and is not attracting their votes.

Your post is incredibly sexist though. I don't think you've left sexism behind.

The PP you are responding to has “I’m not just a mom, I’m a cool mom” all over her.

Your right to your own reproductive decisions does not come from democrats. It belongs to you regardless of political party

Yes. However, democrats are very intent on making sure abortion is "accessible". They show maps of places where people might have to drive more than 20 miles to get an abortion. Indeed, America is composed largely of vast, untamed land, and these places without abortions every 20 miles are abundant. And if we were to put medical facilities in them, I'm not sure I'd prioritize abortion, because other medical needs may be more emergent. I imagine lonely abortion outposts on the Appalachian trail and in the Mojave desert. This is not a relatable vision for me to buy into. You have to be single mindedly concerned with abortions for this to make any sense.

I am voting republican this year
—40s, female and divorced

Why:Trump was not that bad. I voted Biden last time. I am worried about the VP and what it would be like to lose a president in office

Everything already feels chaotic in DC and I
don’t want to deal with more of that if /when /

someone dies of natural causes.

Old people in stressful jobs - don’t do well. Why are we trying it out in the most important role in our nation? I do not see any other big organizations doing this at all.

Just Google "abortion access mapped" and amazed at how many heat maps can be produced about abortion.

It’s not about Trump or Biden. They are simply window dressing.

What’s at stake are the decision makers around them which they appoint to positions of authority. With the Biden admin and his predecessor, we have brilliant young people who only want the best for the future of this nation.

With the Trump administration we had old rich white guys who just want to exploit their opportunities.

On January 6, were you not worried about the president and what it would be like to lose a VP in office?

I just don’t buy it. Maybe. But for all the talk, DC was fine during the Trump years. My family did fine. I volunteer every week so don’t accuse me of being selfish.

I want funding to go to the states. DC is not that important. Have you met these leaders?!

I want bridges, I want police, I want grocery bills that make sense. I want a pay raise and I want my sons to have jobs when they leave school. That is all I am thinking about. I don’t care about abortion (we should phase it out anyway, seems like a thing of last resort), I don’t know what (much at all) is going on at the border.

That is what is in my head. Pretty basic. Pretty family centered. I am independent. I am annoyed. I was super excited about politics when I was younger.

Enough about that date. Property was destroyed and some had heart attacks. It was wrong.
I remember Sept 11. I lost a friend from HS. Let’s not go through that again. Keep me safe. Keep stability abroad so it doesn’t come home
