What have been your results from Ozempic/Wegovy/semaglutide?

I’m trying to eat healthy foods (one piece seeded high fiber bread with 1/2 avocado, low fat Greek yogurt with psyllium husk, chia seeds and berries, salmon and sweet potato is a typical day) Very small portions because eating makes me feel nauseous though I’m ok most of the time.

And I stopped losing weight after week 6. I ate a small desert and a tiny bit of pasta on Mother’s Day and gained a pound and now I can’t even get that off!

What strength are you on?

I was on the starting dose for 4 weeks and then I gradually increased it because I was nauseous. So weeks 1-4 on 2.5. Then 3.0, 3.5 and now about 4.0.
I am not hungry so I’m not going up.
It’s hard to eat. Lots of foods like eggs just don’t appeal to me now.
Yesterday I had a slice of watermelon at 2 pm and dinner (high protein pasta with turkey meatballs). It was a small/medium portion but I did find myself craving the turkey meatballs.

After my early dinner, I had 1/4 cup low fat Greek yogurt so I could get my psyllium husk down.

I did a 30 minute incline walk.

Scale never budges! I think eating more would help but it’s hard.

The fact that I gained a pound eating a normal meal and still can’t get it off is concerning.

Sounds like your body is in starvation mode so you aren't losing. You have to make yourself eat - high protein and fiber as you probably know. 90-100 grams protein. Count it daily, make it a challenge. Try not exercising for a week or so because that's burning off the few calories you are eating.

How much alcohol are PPs drinking, if any? I've heard SGTs decrease your desire to drink.

I’ve heard the same thing. I wasn’t a big drinker before, but alcohol is even less attractive to me now. Sadly, coffee doesn’t taste as good either!

Agree about both the alcohol and the coffee. I've always enjoyed starting my day with coffee but for the past few weeks I can't even finish one cup. Get about two thirds through and it just loses all appeal. I was also never a big drinker but find myself volunteering to be the DD now because I just have no desire to drink. Alcohol either makes me full fast or, as I've learned, if I choose sugary, sweet drinks it totally messes with my stomach.

Currently a size 8, sometimes a 6. Was a 12 before.

Lost 40 lbs over the course of a year, currently on a maintenance dose. I might try to lose a few more lbs over the next year but working on maintaining right now.

What is your maintenance dose?

.25 semaglutide, every 10 days

Exactly my stats. Really give it time. Many times plateaued and took month to lose more. I also didn’t think about or try to lose more.

PP here and agree with the plateaus. I’d go 3 weeks at the same weight and then drop 3 lbs in a couple of days (and keep it off).

I’m on second week of Ozempic but it hasn’t curbed my appetite. No side effects so far. Anyone else not have side effects at week 2?

I was told it takes 4-6 weeks, and sometimes an increased dose for some people.

I had previously lost weight doing just that but gained it back and then some during COVID and pregnancy and now cannot lose a single lb no matter what I do. I wont even look at myself anymore. I need to go through a doctor and my insurance (which will only cover it with prior authorization) because I dont have thousands to spend a month.

My stats are about the same. I went to Rockville Internal Medicine. They referred me to a nutritionist and I had a few session with her. After a month, I’ve gotten into the mindset of healthier habits (more water, no take out, moving more) but still needed a jump start. I was prescribed Wegovy and will start tomorrow. I’ll continue to work with the nutritionist and check with the nurse practitioner. I don’t know if you can go as far as Rockville but all of this has been virtual. My insurance covered it and I’m paying $24 a month.

My usual weight is 184 so I am not really impressed yet as I think the extra 8 lbs was "vacation weight". On my 4th dose of .25, starting .50 on Saturday. Dr said to stay on .50 for two months - check in with her at 1 month. Dr said her patients are seeing most results at this dose. She also advised to start lifting light weights to avoid muscle loss. Anyone else in the same boat?

Wow. That’s a lot of weight loss for 9 months. Did you eat, diet or do anything specific in conjunction with the drug?

It's not as effective now and my doctor is trying to switch me to Zepbound, but she says I have to try Saxenda for one month first, per my insurance company.
