What have been your results from Ozempic/Wegovy/semaglutide?

DP. I lost 40 pounds in about 8-9 months. Mostly a steady pound a week (the exceptions being 9 pounds the first month and 0 pounds in December). I’d done a lot of research ahead of time and was pretty obsessed with losing muscle, so I did weights religiously with a trainer every week the upped weights to twice a week. The change in diet was concentrating on protein and it being VERY easy to skip a meal. I eat 2 meals a day most days. And a dessert. My sweet tooth didn’t go away. But since I’m never really hungry, it’s easy to eat twice, not snack and not overeat.

I really don't understand how these drugs work, because it's so fascinating reading the different ways so many have lost weight. it's interesting seeing people have different ways of losing the weight. Some people suddenly get nauseous at the very thought of dessert but then someone like you still has a sweet tooth. Someone says they now can't stand coffee, others say that's all they can tolerate. It's interesting how two people will have different reactions to the same food and drink, but still both get results.

That's because there are different and complex underlying conditions that the drug affects, particularly WRT to insulin. Some are quite lucky and it has a transformative effect from the minimal dose, and yet others not as much (but usually some benefit). The idea that we are all similar machines who work the exact same way is an understandable, but demonstrably false assumption.

It's that way with all drugs, really.

/not a doctor and don't even watch them on TV

I'm 13 weeks in. Still on 0.5 because it is working and I have side effects, so no need to bump up. I'm down 21 pounds at this point. A lot more to go.

I’m on a low dose and have had a glass of wine occasionally. I ordered a sweet mixed drink once and could only drink half. It was delicious but made my stomach feel bad.

Been on Wegovy for 15 months, currently at 2.4. If I drink alcohol, I don’t lose weight that week. It seems to put a hard stop on my metabolism. I’m 51.

My entire adult life I was fit and active, wore a 4/6, lost weight pretty easily after my first two kids. Had my last baby last year, developed GD, now am prediabetic and literally NOTHING has worked to lose weight. It has been extremely demoralizing. I’m starting semaglutide this week.

Tell me your stats, anything else about the experience, and how long it took you to lose!

My A1C went to 5.7. That’s all I really care about.

I have gained about 19 pounds. Currently 246. I was at 227 before I stared on it two years ago.

This is OP and wanted to update. I have lost five pounds since I posted this and recently (three weeks ago) switched from compounded semaglutide to Zepbound. I have also quit alcohol except for the most special of occasions and started going to Orangetheory 3x/week (started that four weeks ago).

My hope is to be around 175 lbs by my birthday, in early November, and in the 160s by the New Year. If all goes well I will have reached my goal weight by my baby's 2nd (!) birthday in March. Time will tell.

I start at the lowest medical dose (.5) of Zepbound the week after next - need to skip next week because I'm getting a colonoscopy - but very hopeful that weight loss starts at a more rapid clip. I will post again in October with an update.

Thanks all for posting!

I’ve been on Wegovy for nine weeks and a week ago moved up to 1.0. I’ve lost 13 pounds and I’ve had no negative effects though I often feel tired in mid afternoon. I’ve definitely experienced getting fuller faster but I haven’t lost my taste for anything. My goal is to lose 30 pounds and if I can continue to progress at 1.5 lbs a week I will be very happy come October or so.
