Looking at the actual scores the county accidentally released by the demographic cohort that's not exactly true.

The IB magnet makes up a small percentage of the school and would likely only impact Asians since the IB is something like 70% Asian.

I think this is just a story W parents like to tell themselves to feel less mediocre.

If you take out IB kids from the school profile, my guess is no more than 1000 for the entire school not including IB kids. So delta of almost 500 pts between IB and regular kids. That sounds pretty significant.

Because as high-stat kids interested in CS Wootton had a great CS department while they were there.

From Wootton, they went off to great colleges and accepted every single place they applied.

sure, because there is about 25% FARMs rate at the school. SAT scores usually correlate with SES, which is why W schools have high scores.

that's great for your kid, but you know, other schools also have kids who do well on go to top schools. Wootton is not special in that way.

There are surely also many kids among the 450-500 seniors per year at Wootton who do not go off to "great colleges" and are not accepted every single place they applied. How does that go over at Wootton?
