One of these things is not like the other. |
That's not how it's spelled in english buddy. That's also not how Libya is spelled. Name the last US or Western war of territorial expansion. |
You’re saying sh#%t-snd-flee missions like Iraq and Libya don’t count? Like, not all dead people count? |
Why are some countries allowed to split into multiple parts and some aren't? |
It's up to them, not a third party that wants it for themselves. Russia trying to take over Ukraine and make it Russia is not the same as Ethiopia and Eritrea deciding to go their separate ways. The only country in the entire world that has engaged in a war of territorial conquest this century is Russia. And they've done it three times. |
That's laughable. They stole trillions of dollars from other countries through murder, rape, slavery, and colonization. Then when there was not much left to take they went back home and continue to live off that compounded stolen money. The entirety of their museums are stolen artifacts and they are PROUD of it. They parade around their Queen and the "glory" of their Commonwealth and tell other nations they don't believe in returning stolen items. They are actually the worst. They still believe they were God's gift to the world and they actually made the places they colonized better. They've re-written the history of billions of indigenous people around the world. No remorse, no "learned from the past". And they still had colonized nations until almost 1950. The territorial expansions since then are simply that-territorial expansion-and the countries doing them are not trying to be perceived as saviors. They're pretty upfront about their wickedness. And you'd be foolish to not realize that the West has had a dirty hand in several of those territorial expansions whenever it suit their desires. |
“Russia is openly being a dickhead. So, it’s ok!” |
When Ukraine lashed out at Yanukovich for betraying them regarding joining the EU, they threw him out of office. Yanukovich was of course Putin's guy and that meant Putin was losing his grip on Ukraine. In retaliation, Putin sent thousands of mercenaries and provocateurs into Donbas to stage their fake rebellion and independence referendum. |
Russia has been operating in dozens of countries around the world, training, arming and funding rebel groups, terrorist groups, insurgencies, intended to topple dictatorships and destabilize regions in order to weaken and dilute the west while gaining more power and influence for Russia. |
Name those territorial expansions! I'll give you some freebies: Israel: Golan Heights and South Lebanon (South Lebanon was given up on) Indonesia: East Timor (Indonesia gave it up in the 90s) Iraq: Kuwait (The US and USSR led a coalition that opposed it in the 90s) Russia: Ossetia Russia: Crimea Russia: Ukraine |
Lol I guess Israel gets a pass with a slow crawl across the West Bank? At least Russia is handing out passports like candy in occupied Ukraine unlike Israel, who takes Palestinian land but not Palestinian people |
So….basically….behaving like they are the US in Latin America? These bastards! How dare they topple dictatorships? |
Did I say it was okay? The post I originally replied to asked "How many years out of the past 200 has Moscovy been peaceful towards their neighbors?" I stated if we're going back that far it would be England that takes the cake. The reply I got was "Maybe but they've at least learned from their past and reformed." (I bolded the last part) The above response was my reply to that. Basically reformed my *ss. And they've still got dirty hands from their geopolitics. Russia sucks, no worse than England though. And if we're being honest, we're trailing not too far behind them both. |
Russia is a beacon for democracy. |
Passports by which to forceably abduct Ukrainian nationals for resettlement and reindoctrination? Putin and his muppets have made no secret of the desire to wipe Ukraine from the face of the earth if they could. |
