Does anyone else hate summer? I need to know I'm not alone.

+1. I hate everything else about summer.

I hate summer here. The boob sweat is unbearable. It's been instant boob sweat the second you step out the door for the last 3 days.

Summer thunderstorms are a good thing too! Sitting on the porch with a cold glass of wine, enjoying the storm.

summer in DC is gross. I go out now never. when kids were small, it was good to go out to pool, but I have no desire to sit in mug for myself.

OP and fellow summer haters, you are my people. Summer in Mains? Delightful. But Summer in DC is the grossest and most miserablely uncomfortable, buggy, smelly and constantly sweaty hell.

Another summer loathed here. I need to move to a place that is in the low 70’s year road. My son is even breaking out in welts when it’s in the 80’s and 90’s

As a mom of children who overheat and get cranky when bitten by bugs, I hate summer as well. We're 25 degrees of latitude more south than our ancestors were.

Where can we live that has mild winters and summers? My joints hurt in winter and in summer my feet swell 2x their size.

Yes!

I hate the heat, humidity, and mosquitoes. There is no worse feeling than being hot, sticky and having sweat pouring down your body. I like to run and spend time outside but the heat makes it miserable. I do enjoy the extra sunlight and leaves on the trees. If I would spend summer in Canada/a place without all the damn humidity I might like it more. But still the mosquitoes make it suck.

I used not love winter until I learned to ski and now I live for winter.

I definitely said "I f-ing hate summer" at least 100x over the weekend.

I think Northern California is the typical answer here. But it’s $$$$$ and the earthquakes.

The thunderstorms are the worst - our dog loses his $hit! It is exhausting.

Thanks, all.

I feel like the love of summer is shoved down my throat, but it’s probably because no one out there is doing posts about hating summer.

It is the worst.

I love summer but I hate ticks, mosquitoes and humidity.

Wait, what? Serious question: you can get seasonal affective disorder in the summer? I thought that was sun related?

No, they made that up. SAD happens in winter when there is less daylight. They were trying to be. Snarky.

It is a thing. Not common but legit.

“ In rare instances, some individuals experience SAD in the summer. If individuals feel unusually down, tired, or anxious during the summer, they should check with their doctor to see if they have summer SAD. Medical treatment, counseling, and lifestyle changes can make living with summer SAD easier.”

I find summer to be stifling. I hate the heat and direct sun. I keep the blinds shut to keep the house cooler so it can be a very isolating time for me.

Yes, I am the original SAD poster. I've been diagnosed with it by my doctor. It's legit because... wait for it.... it's seasonal! Comes and goes like clockwork. Exact same symptoms as winter SAD (lethargy, weight gain, depression, oversleeping, loss of interest in activities).

Same.
