Does anyone else hate summer? I need to know I'm not alone.

Hate the humidity and the bugs. The heat actually doesn't bother me as much, but it's so freaking humid and gross and you step outside and just feel wet.

I love summer!

While I admittedly struggle with the heat and humidity, I simply crank up the a/c and seek out the shade. I love sitting in a comfy chair under a tree or umbrella. I love fireflies at night. Summer nights are the best!

My kids love the neighborhood pool.

We love the beach…any beach.

We love summer day trips. Getting ice cream.

We love not having a stressful morning routine for school dropoffs.

We are preparing to send our oldest off to college in mid-August, so I fear this is our last normal summer as a family. Sigh. Enjoy every summer moment together while you can.

I don’t know what you are talking about. I live in the middle of Europe and we have crushing heat waves, which are becoming more frequent. This past week was already 26+ degrees. Our buildings were designed for a cooler climate than what we now have with the kind of heatwaves that didn’t happen when our houses were originally built as well.

I used to love it as a kid. Not so much as an adult. I hate summer clothes and swim suits. I never feel comfortable in anything. Summer sucks for aging bodies.

It's hot. Like, in the winter, you can put ON a jacket. And it really doesn't get that cold here. But in summer? There is no relief.

You need sunscreen, bug spray, and hats, plus water EVERY time you leave. Winter...? Just leave the house.

Move. I hate whining about things over which we have no control. Be thankful for air condtioning in your house, car, office, and stores. You are probably only outside five minutes a day!

I posted this because at this time of year it’s just shoved down my throat: photos upon photos of popsicle streaked children with “summer FINALLY!” as the caption.

Meanwhile my son today literally bemoaned “when will it be winter again?”

My children are very fair and get sick in the heat. It’s really hard although I do try to make summer fun for them! They hate the heat.
