I don't know how anyone in their right mind would thing it's appropriate for a raped, traumatized 10 year old to be a parent.
Forced birthers are certifiably insane. |
| Keep on doubling down on your extremist, radical policies, Republicans. The crazier your policies get, the more likely Democrats are to win elections at the local, state, and federal level. |
| The State of Indiana spent tens of thousands of dollars to get a $3,000 slap on the wrist for the doctor and rejection of the more serious allegations it was making against the doctor. |
At the risk of sounding like a broken record, this is exactly the kind of thing that happens in authoritarian regimes. The state legally can't go after this doctor for speaking out about the effect of the law that necessitated this little girl going to another state to get an abortion that an overwhelming majority of the electorate would support so they attack her professionally for a manufactured infraction. |
| Did they even ask the mom if she felt their privacy rights were violated? |
You mean by the Republicans who insisted her daughter’s case wasn’t real and demanded her identity be outed to prove it. |
Understand that a fetus or embryo might be male. There is no scenario where a female should have dominion over a male. That’s what they believe. |
It’s not even that far. They just don’t believe that women should have any agency whatsoever, even a raped ten year old who could well die even from a “healthy” pregnancy. Women truly are not people in the eyes of Republicans. It’s why they don’t think women are entitled to bodily autonomy at its most basic level; that sitbird John Roberts gave women a big middle finger regarding “sidewalk counseling.” On what ducking planet is it anyone else’s business what a woman chooses to do with her own body? And to basically condemn a ten year old rape victim to death… for “life”? They think of women as less than. One can only hope that the women who vote Republican have begun to realize this. |

+1 that it’s sickening on what they’re trying to do to this doctor! This is to ensure that women don’t speak up and that they stay in their place. We can’t have women speaking up can we? /s |
| A 20, 30 or 40 year old shouldn’t have to travel out of state to get an abortion, either. |
Plus a billion. So tired of people saying stupid things like "they can always travel [1000 miles away] to get an abortion if they want one." Let's see how such people react if they had to cross state lines to get health care. |
