What do we think will happen on Monday?

I kind of agree, but I think that what HoCo does impacts what MCPS does. We'll see!

As long as we don't have to hear about PP's chunky ice any more. That is not a thing.

Yep, that was not an “we’re open email”, it was definitely an “we’re still unsure, so help us out” email.

I think LCPS super indicated that an update would come around 4pm today. Knowing Reid she’s probably waiting on their decision. I’m anxiously refreshing but assume we likely won’t know anything til 4-6pm

MCPS super also explicitly said they would have a decision by 4 pm today, so your timeline sounds right.

Think about it there are student drivers and buses having to deal with the narrow roads since the snow is pushed to the side of the roads and mind you the parking lot of schools are living hell it's slippery dangerous and frankly I'm nervous for the accidents it might cause and let's be honest student drivers are reckless. Reckless and ice no way that is a no go.

We have thought about it. Those same conditions will persist for weeks.

The crosswalks are not accessible, the plows have created 6ft+ snow/ice banks there. walkers will have to walk into the road.

Yep, and if getting rid of those ice piles is your criteria, you will be staying in your house until March.

Any updates from the FCPS staff pages and the bus drivers out there testing their routes?

They all get on calls together and share info before they make the call. They’d be nuts not to.

I think fcps could've done a better job with the piles of snow. They really should've planned ahead like what will we do with these snow piles we certainly cant just through on the side on the streets and roads because it just makes it messier for walkers and buses stops.

It’s about damn time FCPS took virtual learning seriously. Other countries can do it. countries in war can do it. Countries with no clean water for everyone can do it. Why can’t us?

Just do it!

No updates from bus drivers (I assume they’re all still out there) but someone has been sharing multiple pics of buses that are still not dug out in parking lots. The pictures are all out of context so idk where they are or how long ago the pics were taken, aside from the fact these are all from today.
