What do we think will happen on Monday?

Are we thinking on time, delay, or even another closure? How are the schools and bus stops looking around you? What about the roads? My guess is probably a delay, but the turns into our neighborhood (on the bus route) are barely plowed wide enough for a cat, let alone a bus.

I know no one wants this, but I think school will be closed. Too many potential liability risks for FCPS.

Closed Monday, maybe longer if snow hits this weekend.

2 hour delay due to cold, but they will open. We aren’t going to get measurable snow here from the storm that’s going to hit the beaches.

Too much thick ice and not enough manpower and resources in this county to deal with it thoroughly… it’s a risk that I’m not sure a 2 hour delay is going to solve given that it won’t reach 33 until later in the afternoon.

Ridiculous. Several of my kids go to a private k-12 that requires kids to take the bus. They had a 2 hour delay today and are on time tomorrow. The bus rides are for the most part longer and kids have commutes to get to the bus stops. The teachers also commute from all over. My public school kid would also like to be back. Get your kids who are at home out there to shovel and break up the ice.

It’s not the snow. It’s the unmelting ice that’s the problem.

That was in response to the “closed Monday, maybe longer if snow hits this weekend” poster.

A private k-12 is not the same thing as 200 public schools spread out over the county. FCPS will never operate with the same efficiency as your children's school.

I hope they open on time. From my perspective I don't see a reason not to. They have three more days to clear. We won't get anything this weekend.

The above poster said her roads aren’t clear wide enough for a bus. You’re suggesting her kids should be clearing the roads that are too narrow for buses?

And nothing’s going to melt this weekend either.

Some roads in my neighborhood are great. Mine is still unplowed.

I'm guessing school parking lots are cleared, but that might be a big assumption.

Kiss and Ride is going to be tough.

They will at least have a delay so that middle school kids don't have to walk to school in the dark in the middle of the one lane Street due to lack of plowing and clearing of sidewalks
