I figured out the key to eating a meaningful breakfast

Anonymous
You know the whole "breakfast is the most important meal of the day" thing? Well for months I've been eating a banana or some berries or whatever and thinking "Eh, it makes no difference."

And then one morning for some reason, I had the following: oatmeal (with cinnamon, milk and butter), fruit, and a tiny baggie of nuts. And then I ate a huge salad for lunch. And then I ate a normal dinner. No snacks. And I was completely satisfied.

Eating breakfast only works if I eat a HUGE breakfast.

Glad you found what works for you!!!

For me, eating breakfast makes me MORE hungry. Throws off my blood sugar or something. If I eat a banana, or a small bag of granola, that’s fine. If I eat a lot, then I am hungry by 11!

I also found what works... eating it at 11, lunch at 2, dinner at 6.

Are you doing intermittent fasting?

No. I get to work at 7 and would immediately eat.. because "breakfast is the most important meal of the day" and then my body was waking me on the weekends at 7 starving.

My dr told me to eat when I get hungry at work not at a set time and 11 is basically the time... sometimes it is 10.

Also my son plays sports so ideally I eat at 6 but sometimes it's 8... or I eat without him.

I also get acid reflux if I eat too late... so there is that.

I wonder if just the protein (nuts) and what you were eating before (banana, berries, etc.) would work as well.

Eating breakfast (the most important meal of the day!) just makes me hungrier throughout the day.

Glass of Tropicana 100% orang juice 22g sugar
Thomas 100% whole Wheat 7g sugar
Skippy natural PB 3g sugar
Polaner fruit spread 8g sugar
40 grams of sugar for breakfast that equals to
10 teaspoon of sugar.
Add 2 teaspoon sugar for my coffee
12 teaspoon of sugar to start your day.

That was my breakfast in the past.
Now black coffee and glass of water 0 sugar to start my day.

That happens to me too. Most days I don't eat until 1 but if I am hungry I do nuts, cheese or meat only. Once I have carbs I am hungry every 2 hours

I have one egg, a thin slice of toast, and a slice of cheese on top. The protein keeps me full for hours. If I have fruit or oatmeal with no protein, I get hungry again really soon.

This is how I eat too, OP.
Once I started eating breakfast, I was able to stop eating snacks and cut sugar and flour out of my diet without really even giving it much thought.

I eat plain greek yogurt and walnuts. Very filling.

One boiled egg and greek yogurt before work and never think about food until it's 1pm.

Wow. I’m more like the OP. I eat a big breakfast, and then I can eat a moderate lunch or skip lunch altogether if I am busy. If I miss breakfast, then I start feeling like I HAVE TO eat by lunchtime. And even if I am busy, I will stop what I am doing or be late to a meeting in order to eat.
