And now dropped by Ralph Lauren too. Ouch.

Faaaaaaack. He's done. No sponsors and will be way too old to compete seriously in 2020. TF he gonna do?

Well -- he does have a $6 million net worth so I guess he lives off the income generated from that investment? Hopefully it is invested and he hasn't been using it thus far. Then in a yr or 2 when people forget, he opens a swim school in Charlotte and pretty much prints cash again as parents run to sign their kids up to train with an Olympian bc they think their snowflake is at Olympian level?!

Guess they don't want to be associated with someone who brings bad press.

Look at this. Apparently the story broke by accident because Lochte's loud mouth mom leaked it to a reporter in a van. Nuts

If he had an OUNCE of sense, he could have squelched this.

the problem is this plan requires someone to actually be at least marginally intelligent. This is a guy who spends money on grills and gold winged shoes. he is not bright. Hsi family also seems to be a bunch of leeches so I suspect some of the money is there or in his multiple cars etc. He may be a good swimmer but I sure as hell wouldnt think of him as a good coach for my kid. its painful hearing him talk.

I agree the $6 million may not be lying around and may not be properly invested. Hopefully there's a million or two left that he can live off of until he can earn money again. And while you may not send your kid to be coached by Ryan, there are many who would. Like him or not, he is a 12 time medalist. Some parents want their kids to get any edge they can so that their kids can make it to national level competitions and/or get recruited D1. They will be fine with Ryan's "tantics" -- esp. 2-3 yrs from now when the details will be fuzzy. Not to mention lots of parents are raising swim bros and may very well be thinking -- boys will be boys -- those parents would have NO problem paying Ryan a few thousand a month to train their kid.

I would happily send my DD to the Ryan Lochte Swim Academy starting tomorrow, and I am not looking for my kid to be especially competitive or gain an "edge." Why not? Lochte is a gold medalist and doesn't seem like a bad guy, all things considered.

Tons of parents send their kids to former Olympian Tom Dolan's academy out by the airport, and he wasn't nearly as successful as Lochte. I'm sure most of those parents aren't there because they're hoping their kid makes it to Nationals or whatever.

You mad? Lol!
Why don't you go drink some more haterade!
You sound super bitter and a little crazy.
Ryan Lochte may very well be an intelligent d bag, but he's got more gold medals than you'll ever have. This will all blow over and he will still be very wealthy and a champion.

... And he torn a sign off the wall. Totally stupid but NOT A BIG DEAL!!!!

Are you drinking so heavily ^^ that you don't realize that you are arguing with someone who agrees with you? /s

Would I enroll my kids in the Ryan Lochte Swim Academy? No. But I'd happily enroll myself, and could probably find a few other middle aged moms that would find it enjoyable as well.

Yea that's such BS. He was drunk and he's apologized enough. It's ridiculous. Get over it.

Please. If I were a corporate sponsor I'd do the same thing. Why risk that a bad boy at the end of his career gets into more trouble and tarnishes your name -- when their are dozens of young, up and coming swimmers who will go to the next world championships/Olympics etc. with no history of causing trouble?

Well hopefully he's been smart with his money and saved most of it. Who even cares about Speedo

sure why should a swimmer care about Speedo lol

Lochte is Chernobyl.
