What's gross is their negligence in being decent humans.
You have right AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

They should absolutely all be expelled and jailed.

This has been an ongoing problem. There are no consequences for students who just stand there watching violence played out on another student like it's a spectator sport. This should be considered a punishable offense. No hugging it out. They should know better.

I want to see any witness who didn't call a school staff person or 911 arrested for neglecting to bring aid to a seriously wounded individual.

They are the lowest of the low, indeed!

There was a very leading question re: the shooter's IG account. Sounds like he may have made his intentions known. If so, shame it was not reported. There were threats at the same school that were reported in December.

Any update on the victim?

Police chief says the witnesses are not his problem. He's leaving them to MCPS to deal with. That's what he said.

But in the actually classy column is Stephanie Ramirez posting that the family declined to talk to reporters.

Oh Kevin Lewis, I guess they are not white and are not Hispanic.

I’m not sure that I understand your point? They came through the door giving reporters the finger. When asked for comment said “mind your own f$@&ing business b$/@h”. Are we supposed to instead pretend that something else happened?

I didn’t click the link. Kevin only reports on Hispanic and black crime. So I didn’t need to click the link, the facts it’s KL says so much.

Get to know your local reporters to get balanced news.

Are you kidding? He practically stalked the Damascus football coaches.

Really? Are you sure you want to make this claim? Might want to think about the logical next fact.
Sadly reporters like Lewis are presented with an embarrassment of riches in MOCO 2022
Face facts

Yes. Really.

He needs to go too
The judges in this county need to go too
The superintendent needs to go
Jawando and friends need to go.

This needs to stop here.

The insinuation is that the pandemic led to a mental health crisis which is what caused this student to order a gun online, assemble it, bring it to school and attempt to murder another student. Absent the pandemic everything would be peachy.

Weird because none of my children tried to murder anyone this year.

They clearly lacked good judgement but these things have to be taught. If their parents, friends and teachers respond to everything by going on social media its all they know. Not saying its a good excuse or a valid excuse but this is why schools need more staff monitoring the halls and bathrooms.

Teachers and admin don’t usually have this knowledge. When they pulled the SRO’s didn’t really replace it with any of the functions/skills that the SRO’s brought with them.

It looks like the shooters father has a record. I'd be shocked if the mother doesn't too considering her lack of self control and decorum

Exactly. He was dogged about it.

Besides giving the finger, at one point the female relative, mom? looked like she was holding her hand like a gun. Unreal.

Dad was holding the hand of another woman, gfriend? Mom? He got in some obscene gestures too.

If the kid ordered the gun online and a friend helped him assemble it and the confrontation in the bathroom was planned, this was no heat of the moment thing. Plus he may have posted about it on social media. He needs to go away for a long time.

Yes, I wondered about this. The public defender had the nerve to request that the teen be placed on 24 security monitoring in his mother's home
Clearly dear old Dad was not an option. That's what a record will do for you.
So sad. Some of these kids never have a chance.
