It is not a FOIA. It was a county council worksession that went through all the data. It’s all public information.

How do the stats vary from when RPOs were in the schools?

11 were actually arrests so the others were useless calls?

The original facts recounted were that Alston held the gun to the victim's head and the victim pushed it away. Dangerous to NOT move the gun at your temple away, no? The shooter ordered the 3 parts of the gun, assembled it with help, brought it to school and carried it into the bathroom knowing there would be a confrontation. That is not self defense, that is premeditation.

Depends if he can show he knew he was getting jumped and the school didn’t protect him.

Yes. That's what all the kids think, too. Based on the history of the people involved. To me, it's two lives ruined. I feel very badly for both the shooting victim and the shooter. They are children. Ghost guns are a game changer, unfortunately. They are so incredibly easy to get.

But this is the trend we are seeing in the county. People who have disputes and don't know how to handle them. What used to be a fist fight is now about knives and guns.

And it’s pretty sad to to think the “friends” of the victim were the ones who posted on social media and left him hurt in the bathroom.

You have to be really slow to think the story that the defense puts out there is the truth.

just because the victim is the one in the hospital doesn’t mean he was completely innocent in this situation. Obviously the shooter is to blame here. I think this story is not that simple.

The shooter is not at fault if it is self defense

It's illegal to have a firearm in a school. Let's start there.

Something like 2/3 of the calls resulted in reports being written. That means that there was sufficient reason to document the incident but not necessarily enough probably cause to arrest. Some of those reports likely go on for further investigation. Some will be found to be unwarranted. Some might be handled by schools instead. Some may result in arrests.

The weapons offenses alone that have been admitted to are exceptionally concerning. Possession by minor. Ghost gun. School zone.

Actually the report says there was a screw up in the 911 response. Maybe Ryan should read the document.

Really disappointed that the report does little to attempt to prevent other shootings and spends more time worrying about what to do when they happen. I feel like we've just given up, as a society.

The report is very clear that the VICTIM is always responsible to immediately making ID of perpetrator and showing police where perpetrator is hiding. It's all on the victim. If they don't handle it appropriately, no one else is responsible for anything.
