Murder at Lululemon in Bethesda

21: 38 - 22:27 here. That is what I was talking about. Just waiting for someone to try and minimize it.

You didn't see them because they were deleted very quickly.

Norwood attended Stony Brook, which is part of the SUNY system. She was a student athlete there. She seems to have come from a middle class background.

I find myself glued to the news on Japan and Libya, and do wonder why these topics don't get much traffic. But I guess because there's not a lot of controversy about them.

Bouquet bride was before my time on this site, so I had to go and search for it. Thank you for the amusing read! http://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/65786.page

I can't believe you guys are bringing the bouquet bride up to this thread...get a grip people!

I am the one who posted several days ago and said I would never come back after some silly comments. I am so very dearLy connected to this case and up so late at night because I can't sleep. Please remember everyone on here that some people are very personally invested in this and some of your comments have brought me to tears. I know that it is my fault for being on this forum but I am very curious to see what everyone is thinking. I can tell you that family knew of Brittany days ago and that she was the prime suspect. I can tell you that jayna was attacked surprisingly. Her boyfriend who I have called her fiance because they were planning on on getting married after 5yrs of dating was not involved. he is devastated. The family told us that Brittany was stealing Monet from lulu lemon and something happened from there. I don't know the specifics but there was nothing personal going on...just selfish. Please don't Make this into something it's not. I know it's exciting to many of you. For lack of a better word. But this is real. I'm not saying that you guys can't say what you want or speculate but this is horrific in so many ways and I just want you to remember that family does read these pOsts and hearing you argue over race etc would be the very last thing jayna would want. I can't tell you Enough how jayna would not want this to be about that.

Since the police have said that the store was definitely locked up at 9:45 p.m., then opened up again at 10:05 p.m., perhaps it was Jayna alone who returned (having forgotten something) and surprised Brittany in the act of stealing. Perhaps Brittany had said goodnight, then hidden herself in the store, and/or perhaps she had managed to make herself a copy of the key to the store.
Undoubtedly, when they argued (whatever the specifics of the argument) Jayna would not have thought her life to be in danger. Very, very sad.

No one wants to discuss race, because they are afraid it is pertinent. There are some people of any color who are taught to hate. Maybe the perp was taught to hate at an early age. Does anyone know anything about her family?

If there are people of all races who are taught to hate, then how is race pertinent?

I suppose, but why is there more attention to this than, say, the accidental death or killing of a child? I can't figure out why people seem so affected by it, when the only connection is that people have shopped there.

The thread is offensive now, I imagine, to any family or friends of Janya reading it. I hope they understand it's not a reflection of what I think we all feel: deep sadness over the loss of a beautiful young lady who had her life in front of her. Unfortunately, once someone on a thread goes off topic or says something strange, a number of response posts will only further serve to push the thread further off topic.

I lost a very good friend to murder, and it was difficult to watch the media attention/public interest in the case when I was suffering a personal loss. My sympathies to the family/friends for the deep pain you're in.

This is actually sort of a simple story. Brittany was backed into a corner due to theft, and she reacted by taking another human being's life. Too bad she will probably walk in a few short years.

I have never shopped at this store and I am deeply affected by the story. A young woman was murdered, while apparently a lot of people were on the street nearby. And then you add the layers of the lies and deception. This is not the same as an"accident". Totally senseless and brutal.

I have spent lots of time on that particular block in Bethesda - taking my minvan in for a checkup at the Honda dealership, going to G'town cupcake and chicken out (before it closed), Five guys is on the same block and my husband has frequented the Apple store - and we live in DC! That little stretch of Bethesda is a very familiar spot for a lot of people.

People care so much because of the comments like the PP "I took my mini van to the g't cupcake near by"

How tacky.

I am the pp and 8:41 you obviously can't read.
