OJ really wasn't tried by a jury of his peers because he really wasn't "one of them". He was a celebrity athlete who lived and moved about in the white world. He dated white women and married one. He lived in rich, white areas. His peers were rich, white, privileged people who lived on the West Side, where his former wife and her friend were killed.

I'm going out on a limb here and say that the defendant in this case is not going to be able to afford the team of attorneys like OJ hired.

Also, everyone hates defense attorneys until they or someone they love needs one. Since we all have the right to a fair trial, it's essential that both sides have legal help. The attorney that handles her case has a responsibility to defend her to the best of their ability. Anything less could cost the attorney their license and void the trial. But, I'm sure some of you here would rather go on and on about the character defects of the attorney.

The case will be moved. Too many people here are going in with an opinion. Proof DCUM, get ready Jeff.
The character of JM will come into this. Had she ever picked a fight with anyone before? That might be easy to show, all you need is one person saying that she was aggressive.
BN will try to say second degree self defense. BUT the mutilation will be very hard to explain.
The prosecution will get some sense and come to terms that this was second degree.
BN might say insanity (there is some evidence that she is crazy).
She will get 35 years and serve 30, out by age 60.

Waiving the preliminary hearing here is smart. There is obviously sufficient evidence to go to trial, so why telegraph the defense strategy?
