Why are you posting details that the police have not released? People on here may eventually be in the jury pool for this case and putting info out there that you claim to be true just muddies the pool of good jurors. I am sorry for your loss but if you are truly personally close to this case keep the details to yourself for Jayna's sake. |
It stands to reason that it was about stealing money. Because the only other possibility would have been that she had someone working with her to rob the store and Jayna recognized the person as being someone Brittany knew which would have then made it clear why they ultimately killed Jayna. So it is really the same situation but the difference is that she did it alone and the motive was MONEY! And the person that said it is ashame because she is going to walk in a few years is WRONG! She is toast! The nature of this crime and the thought that went into it on her part is going to assure that she is locked up for the rest of her life. She will NEVER get out unfortunately for her and fortunately for the rest of the world. |
Re: "I can't figure out why people seem so affected by it . . . "
Because neighbors and/or shoppers (I am both) are part of the same community. I don't think that anyone who is not a family member or friend of the deceased victim is claiming that they feel devastated, as those family members and friends must feel. Still, a professional business person -- perhaps helping you with your car or helping you choose a new gym bag and encouraging your plan to reinvigorate your exercise routine -- is a part of the community, and can definitely make a difference in a person's day. In my case, one young woman who did assist me at Lululemon (not either of the two under discussion here) did give my day a lift by assisting me in a professional and encouraging manner. And, the day that we stop caring about our communities and the people in them will be a sad day. |
I disagree that she will automatically be convicted w/ a long sentence. In fact, if she has a really good lawyer she could get out of it. All the emotional outcry seen on this board will be kept out of the courtroom if she has a great lawyer. Just look at the Swann St. murders. |
I don't think the Swann St comparison holds...the evidence there was really muddled (I'm sure intentionally by the roommates), and it took a long time before charges were even brought. I'd surmise by how quickly the arrest in this case was made that there's more solid evidence. Also, the Swann St folks were lawyers themselves...Brittany Norwood isn't a lawyer, and I doubt she's going to get the best of the best. |
If she has the resources to hire the likes of Bernie Grimm, et al, upwards of 250k just to GET to trial, yes she could walk like the guys in Swann St. |
Why? Because is happened in a wealthy bubble, where people presume to have spent enough on real estate that they are spared the ugly violence that is but a banal, everyday occurrence in other neighborhoods. Expectations. It's just another aspect of the NIMBY syndrome. |
maybe she will concoct a story and say it was self defense (i think she's already said jayna attacked first?) and that it got out of hand and she was scared. who knows. she apparently has created many lies up to this point. |
New info...of course it is second hand information but never the less it fits the picture. Apparently she was working in the Tyson's Corner Lululemon and they transferred her to Bethesda because she had some sort of issue with the Manager at Tyson's! Hence what I meant before when I said that she has managed to get herself out of situations where her anger got the best of her. Who knows what she made up then that had them transfer her rather than fire her.
Also aparently she had applied for a job at Equinox Bethesda and was in the process of being hired!!! |
Oh and I disagree that there is any possibility of her walking. NO WAY in HELL is this chick walking! It is just a matter of time before they drive the nails in her cross. She has so much stacked against her. And how in the name of GOD could she even possibly say it was self defense when she bluggened her with a hammer and slit her throat with a box cutter! Are you kidding me???!!!!
She put a size 14 shoe on and walked through the blood so she could pretend that there was a 6ft man in there. She drove Jayna's car 3 blocks away so that no one wondered if she was in the store. She beat herself and then cut herself to look as if she had been attacked. She then tied her arms up in the air and spent the night with a dead body so as to appear to also be a victim! And to add insult to injury she claimed that not only she was raped but so was the victim! And you think that she can call all of this self defense? The story is going to get worse before it gets better so don't kid yourself for one minute and believe that there is ANY way out of this! |
Watch out if your employees who can't get along with others. They might have other mental issues. Seriously. We have had to fire people before and it is not pretty. Just be careful. They were probably afraid to fire the girl - and who could blame them! |
I live and work in the area and was on the Avenue today when I was told that info. The info about the transfer came from someone that has connections with the police in the area so I can only assume it is true. And it is an iffy situation because as we know very often when you fire someone they sue! But I hope they learned a lesson in this case. I know that one of the clubs that I teach classes in puts people through a rigorous online application that is pretty much a personality test! And it is all about finding out if you have anger issues or not! It is a very annoying application but now I see why they do it! |
It amazes me that they transferred her rather than fire her. People CAN be fired. You do need to have a process in place that you apply the same way to anybody who needs to be let go. But dumping a problem employee on another store/division/whatever-you're told not to do that when they send you to Supervisory Training 101. BTW, before her Facebook page was taken down, I looked at it and it had a link to a page that seemed to be an ad for an entertainer with what looked like her picture. Did anybody happen to catch that? Also, seems she does have local ties. She has a sister who lives in DC-it was reported on 9News. |
I had heard that her boyfriend came to the hospital to see her and was unable to see her but did get to see her sister. So I knew she had a sister I just didn't know if she lived in the area. She has to be in SHOCK! |
