I highly doubt she could hire them and pay on her own. They are probably more interesting in the press and they are working pro-bono or at a discounted rate. This case got huge media and I doubt she can afford a good lawyer...and with 8 kids I doubt her parents could shell it out. |
The Starbucks reopened in the same location, but the company donates all proceeds from that location to prevent crime in the area. They also have a beautiful memorial to the victims up on the wall and for 10 years, fresh flowers were delivered weekly to the store in their honor. Lululemon could easily do the same. |
I don't know how anyone could possible represent her. I personally couldn't live with myself. The firm has this statement on its website:
Criminal Defense We provide aggressive legal representation for persons charged with crimes and serious motor vehicle offenses. Our attorneys have obtained acquittals in all types of criminal cases, ranging from simple misdemeanors, to serious felonies, such as robbery, rape and murder. Yuck! |
maybe they're going to have her plead guilty. |
Where did you see that they have 8 kids? |
I seem to remember that she went to some kind of private school. So they must have a little change to put on the table.
I bet they will try to go with second degree and a mental problem. They will say that Jayna started it. |
In this article...look down below where it says she lived with one of her 8 siblings off Florida Ave. http://www.gazette.net/stories/03232011/potonew201910_32533.php |
Wow, just checked that link. Sounds like a Not Guilty plea: Norwood's attorney, Riverdale's Douglas Wood, said he doesn't believe any of the allegations against her, describing Norwood as "just a middle-class kid from Washington State." As of now, he plans to have her plead not guilty to the murder charge. He pointed to Norwood's past, noting it doesn't include any criminal history. He said claims that she had been stealing from lululemon are unfounded. "This doesn't fit, this isn't her," he said. He said the brutality of the crime indicated Norwood — listed in police records as weighing 120 pounds — is innocent. |
Yeah but ppl on here have already commented on this saying that 1) with a freaking HAMMER it does not matter how much you wegh...one swift blow to the head and you could be unconcious or dead. 2) he is just acting like this bc as a good defense attorney he has to say these things. I HATE defense attorneys like this but he is doing his job which is to try and get her off. I hope she burns for this in many ways! |
You do realize that the criminal justice system in this country pretty much requires that there are lawyers out there willing to represent folks accused of crimes, right? And that sometimes, innocent people stuck with shitty attorneys are found guilty and languish in prison for decades? |
or worse, death penalty |
Of course I realize this, duh! That's why I said "I personally." I'm just expressing how in this particular case, it would be hard for me to stomach if a were a criminal attorney. Clearly there are many cases where people are wrongfully accused of crimes, but this is not one of them. But they took the case, so they must have some plan in mind. |
Its called publicity for the law firm. |
Since she was considered to be a good athlete, maybe she attended on a scholarship. |
The foundation of our criminal justice system entitles everyone to representation and to put the State to their burden of proof. It's one of the things that makes this country great. And you don't like it? I don't understand people like you. Google "John Adams" and "Boston Massacre." There are PLENTY of people who get awful defense attorney and suffer as a result of it. Thankfully, there are people willing to take these cases. Even if they are paid ridiculous sums of money and receive publicity. |
