| Pride is doing just fine. Go bother someone else. |
Pride '23 and '24 teams are both better than Capital's teams. Not only winning against competitive teams more often but beating Capital in head-to-head tournament games. Question is, do Stars and other NOVA '25, '26, '27 parents/athletes won't to join a club that is in turmoil because it sent an athlete to UNC 5 years ago or are they looking ahead to what the club will offer their kid when it is critical for them. '22 recruiting problems at Capital will only get worse next year for '23 because they are winning even less than the '22 team did while coaches and staff are offering nothing more. '24 is even worse--expect even Delaware might be a stretch for most of that team. |
| The rankings are 95% based on tourney machine. The rest are what teams or tournaments sled report when not using tourney machine. They have thousands of teams ranked between boys and girls. You can always find a game or two that looks out of place because a team either over or under preformed one game. The rankings still use math. They do not care about the 99th ranked girls team in one age group. No agenda for that. What girls club does he own? You never answered. |
No idea who runs the site or makes the rank but if MnD'22 is below Capital'22, there is no math involved. |
| I have no idea what club he owns, and I don't even assume any bias. What I do assume is it is a shoddy organization publishing ridiculous things as a for-profit business. It cannot be done by math because the rankings absolutely do not correspond with results. There is zero validation of what they are doing. It's just any idiot putting out stuff that they know parents will actually pay for. It would be much smarter as a community to pay it no attention and let it die, but I don't see that happening. |
Hate to make you face reality but M&D black ‘22 hasn’t been doing a lot of winning in the past year. Great individual players but don’t know how to play as a team. Capital blue ‘22 had one bad game this fall against TLC. Otherwise did well against other top teams. Negative PP really has no idea what she’s talking about. And US Club lax rankings are most accurate out there. In fact Pride owner posts her teams rankings by this organization regularly. Based purely on math |
| Why is every post reverting to Pride v CLC when clearly it should be CLC then Cardinal then Pride. Rankings and recruiting success are they metrics that matter |
This thinking is in the minority for the younger parents/athletes and most do not think Capital is in any kind of turmoil. Even if parents/kids kept their options open and decided to go elsewhere than Capital, they would go to a Maryland team, certainly not Pride. |
| Check out lacrosserankings.com from lacrosse magazine. Seems a lot more thought and actual data goes into those rankings. And I imagine that magazine has to at least try to produce reliable results. |

Agreed 100%-- no one thinks any of those teams are better than Capital. |
Those rankings are a joke. Very incomplete and nothing to back it up. US club lax has each team record and ranks all the teams boys and girls |
| You have just got to be kidding. US Club lax last year had teams on the list that aren't even teams. They are a total scam. Lacrosse magazine's choices at least match up with teams' actual records. I'm sure neither one is perfect, but the US club lax one should be eliminated. |
| As a parent in that age range (25-29), the girls are actually less focused on the commits at that early an age and more on where it might help set them up for their high school team. CLC and Pride being so closely aligned with St Stephen's, Visitation and Bishop Ireton makes the most sense of what NoVA are all about those two teams. The others are nice, but those are the high schools that get the top commits - just look at the last 2-3 years for those three years. |

My lacrosse players are boys so I rarely read the girls threads. But when I do, I am always stunned at how angry, petty, and personal they are. I thought boy lacrosse parents were tough, but man these people are nasty. I hope someday to meet this girl Katie just to know what she is like in person.
Question - is all this hostile posting on the girls side coming more from Dads, or from Moms? |
Nothing like a rich whiney guy crying because people are being mean and then making a sexist comment about a person by name. Judging from your level of sensitivity, recommend not meeting her in person--unlike most adults associated with Capital, she actually played midfield in college. |
