Yawn.....Good moderating with some of the recent posts. |
There is always room on a team for the right player, and to think otherwise is nonsense. I understand the conventional wisdom about 8th grade but a top player in their position has mobility at any time. |
Yes and no. Once high school club teams are formed they generally play together throughout those years. Yes, players may be added as others decide to move on from club lacrosse or on a rare occasion switch high school club teams, but the makeup of these teams usually remains consistent. Definitely by the start of sophomore years changes are far less likely, even for top players. Players are more committed and further along in their recruitment process and clubs want to support these goals, not disrupt them. Players may be added, but more likely to replace those who have decided not to continue with club lacrosse, not because clubs are looking to add a superstar player this late in their high school programs. This is why the better clubs do not hold open tryouts past 9th grade. They fill in for the few openings they will have. These clubs are committed to the development of their own players and focused on their recruitment efforts. |
| You really are delusional. Capital has been the best option in DMV over last 15 years and will be fine going forward. Keep posting if it makes you feel better but you just look like an idiot. |
Agree 100%. Badmouthing Capital on dcum for whatever reasonr is clearly the longtime secret pastime of a few people.
|
Predictable reaction the same day that Capital posted their college signees. Insanely jealous haters are going to keep hating |
Stop being factual. It gets in the way of all the petty emotion the same haters use to distract themselves and others from reality |
Super good goal...best club over 15 years, maybe...ideally your goal should be looking forward and ramping your game up as the competition has started to enter the market. Defending your turf by looking back is a losing strat. Tell everyone why it is the best option going forward Mr or Mrs. Capital avid defender? That's what they young families want to know. |
Turning the question around, what club do you consider a better option for the HS years then, if it's not Capital in your eyes? I'm sure most already know the answer, but outside of going to a Maryland team, what do you consider better? |
What a stupid comment. By all means tell young families to pick a club that doesn’t have any track record of success placing players at the best colleges in America. That’s persuasive |
Capital has a track record. Period. Its really that simple. Yes, they lose some matches in the early window of the three years of the program, but overall, its really hard to grasp how broad and deep their history is with women's lacrosse, There are only a handful of programs that compete with them year-in and year-out - and that's for both teams. They had multiple D1 commits on their second team. Think about that. They have multiple Ivies. Multiple near Ivies. NESCAC, etc. No program is perfect - at all, and no club is going to get your daughter the commitment. But again, on balance, showing up in Capital shirt at a camp or clinic, whenever that can happen again, gets you noticed. Does it seal the deal, no, but with the odds of landing a lacrosse scholarship around 50-1, you have to look for edges. Capital is that edge in this area, as are the top teams at M&D, Heroes and Sky Walkers. But don't kid yourself that an emerging program, no matter how hard the club hustles or well-meaning will get into the same tournaments, brackets, as Capital and the others. It just won't happen. Could it happen in 5-10 years? Maybe. But we didn't take that chance when life got hard, and it definitely will. It does for everyone. Better to stop looking outside at the answer for the problem, and instead look in the mirror. Capital is a tool - a good tool and probably best of class in the area. But go in eyes wide open. |
| ^^ +1 |
Ok. So you answer a question around why is it the best option going forward in the DMV with a question around is there a better option?? Got it. So lets all settle for the status quo?? |
This is a great answer. Thank you. Clearly you are a consumer and not the above asssociated/paid by the club itself. |
| I am always confused by this as well. I see the Capital hate but then when I saw the IG posts I actually created a thread about it. Is the 2021 class from previous ownership? Maybe the lower classes just didnt have the talent because of the newer high school programs? Not sure |
