Girl Raped at Rockville HS

Read the last page. The Sherwood rape wasn't actually a rape. The girl told her parents it was initially, then an investigation determined they knew each other (no stranger was involved despite the fact she said it was a stranger). And charges weren't filed.

I'm not saying the Rockville student wasn't raped. Rather, I'm saying nobody has established that she was. The fact that the Latino boys are being held doesn't mean they are guilty. Here's how our justice system works: privileged white kids are questioned and released to their parents, while minorities are held as flight risks.

If the kids didn't flee the school, then folks should wonder why. Would you go to class and wait to be arrested if you just assaulted someone at school?

It is also possible that some minorities actually do commit crimes and are rightfully held.

Also, just because the boys did not flee the school does not mean they are innocent.

Agreed. You just proved that it could go either way. Bottom line: nobody really knows the truth yet.

So which is it? Presumption of guilt or wait for facts?

I am wondering this also.

The PPs want us to wait and see if the boys are really guilty, but are willing to come on here and speculate that the girl might be lying. Those PPs pride themselves on not being racist, but in all honesty, they come across as very sexist.

Their argument is that Latino boys are often unfairly targeted by our justice system. But OTOH, Latino girls are often liars who claim rape after having consensual sex.

(I'm only assuming the victim was Latino since it has been said that the boys only spoke Spanish, so if they were communicating with the victim....)

Now see, you were stating it as fact that minorities get held unfairly. I'll be waiting to hear from you after all the facts come out regarding the immigration status of these men and whether the rape actually occurred.

Wow, you are really projecting. Nobody...NOBODY...said that the victim was Latina and that Latinas lie about rape. Wow.

Read the police report! It was horrific and brutal. Also all new students that don't speak English or are new to the country are placed in 9th grade, No matter their age.

It is a fact that minorities are held while their affluent white counterparts are released to their parents. Google it.

But stating that widely accepted fact doesn't mean I was passing judgment on their guilt or innocence. Make sense?

This article has more details. Sounds like there was evidence of the assault. Poor girl. Those animals will likely be found guilty and deported.

I hate when people are called animals. Animals ( that I know of) do not rape. Please stop insulting animals.

As a biologist, I have to correct you. Unfortunately, males of many species physically force females into having sex. There is also male homosexual sex among certain species.

The Washington Post said they were both in 9th grade. That's the same as a freshman.

18 and 19 freshman? They didn't transfer from MD. Send them
Back to whatever shit hole they came from.

The immigration status of the accused is relevant to the assault how, exactly?

Because if he/they were not here it wouldn't have happened. Add to the fact the MoCo is intensely invested in sanctuary status, people are rightly concerned that this rapist and accomplice will be set free. On grounds for racism/xenophobia/[name your special status here].

Well, obviously. Also if the girl hadn't been here. Or if there had been a snow day today. Or if the girl had been sick today. Or if somebody had been in the boys' bathroom. Or...

Immigration/citizenship status is not relevant to rape.

Illegal immigrants are not here to obey the law - they have disregarded one already and don't care much about the rest.

This is an ignorant statement. You are blinded by your political correctness. The last time I checked we were were a nation of laws. This violation of law has repercussions as we are now seeing.

So...if you are a U.S. citizen convicted of tape you go to jail. If you are an undocumented immigrant you go...home!?
