Bob haircuts are ugly!

It's not faster, my long hair is faster, I have to do the bob... Blow dry...straighten
.

This. I had a bob in my 20's and got compliments all the time (looked kind of like Louise Brooks) but it was a lot of work to make it look good. Long hair is so much easier. I can let it air dry with no problem. With the bob, no way!

Me too
I love my, structured, geometric bob – one part Louise Brooks, one part Swinging Sixties – and what it represents historically. Because so much attention has been made on the cut, I don’t have to spend ages on styling, it just swishes into place. Anything goes style wise these days so I’m always surprised how many compliments I get from strangers on my bob – most people have more relaxed styles so it does stand out (nothing ‘office lady’ about it, Lana!). So credit due to my hair stylist for being so talented – the five point bob is one of the hardest styles to create in hairdressing.

Teeters sooo close to a mom cut. I couldn't carry it off without looking like an Oprah-lovin' hausfrau.

If I were going to have a bob, I would want one just like Donna Tartt's. Donna Tartt's bob is perfection.

Why do women do this to themselves? I really don't understand the appeal. It is especially bad when the bob is super stacked and short in the back. There have to be other alternatives??!

+1

They think it looks good. You do you, OP.

Your link simply showed me that it's usually white women with thin, limp hair that benefit from the look of the bob cut. I totally agree.

Thin, fine hair does not look good long at all, the bob cut is a way to give it a fuller appearance and since it likely gets oily quickly since its so thin the shorter cut would make it easier to wash and dry daily.

Different styles look good on different women, some should rock the bob and others look good with long hair.

I agree - I love some of those- esp Cate Blanchet. But my hair is just too thick and would be out-to-HERE on any day i did not spend an hr styling. So i guess i rely on the weight of longer hair to hold it down. And i'm 52! I would love to cut it but i'm not ready to take on all that styling.

iconic style for Anna Wintor. If it's good enough for Vogue ...

You know what's REALLY ugly? Like, horrendously ugly? Women who judge other women. I really don't understand the appeal. It is especially bad when there is no need to be such a terrible person. There have to be other alternatives than to judge and tear down other women on a constant basis.

My bob looks perfect even when I go to sleep with my hair wet. Yes, I know you're jealous.

14:15 Why did you revive a 3 year old thread?

Really op? Because I've gotten the most compliments of any haircut I've ever had with my current bob. I didn't live it at first (it's the kind that is long layers with the front longer than the back and I was worried I look like kate fucking gosselin but people I barely know tell me my hair looks great!).

Google Shay Fox images if you think it's a mom cut
