Bob haircuts are ugly!

I was getting my hair done yesterday, and I couldn't help but notice the amount of women getting bob haircuts. Even on young women, they just scream "mom hair" to me. Why do women do this to themselves? I really don't understand the appeal. It is especially bad when the bob is super stacked and short in the back. There have to be other alternatives??!

Obviously, because they have a different opinion. They must like it. I have seen plenty of women who look cute with a well-cut bob.

Ive also seen fabulous bobs. OP not everyone looked good or bad in Farrah Fawcetts feathered haircut but it seemed everyone got them at some point (back in my dah- haha. Including me. It looked pretty good on me actually).

I almost always dislike bobs too. The only person I can think of who looked great with one is Katie Holmes - and that's because she has a crazy beautiful jawline and had the best people to style it - and even she said in some interview I read that she grew it out because it was so hard to make it look good!

I get the appeal - it's short enough to be fast and convenient, but not as extreme as a pixie or full-on short "mom" haircut. But as with many happy mediums, it's a mediocre look on most people.

It's not faster, my long hair is faster, I have to do the bob... Blow dry...straighten.

There is such a big range on "the bob" that you can't really make a sweeping statement.

Mine is all shoulder length with bangs and looks a lot more put together than the long hair I was sporting prior. Think Reese Witherspoon's latest cut.

The stacked bob, though, I hate. But the but people I are around town with that cut are clearly tourists.

I think it depends on the face. If you have a thin and cut face with great bone structure, you will look great with a bob. I also think it has a lot to do with hair texture. If you have smooth hair (I am thinking Asian hair), it will look great. If you have a courser textured hair, it usually does not. (I am talking to you, mom.)

For me it is not faster. Blow drying and straightening long hair does not take longer. Just imagine it is true for some people. Also I can't do undos, crunched curls or ponytails which are easy once my hair air dries.

I cut my hair for locks of love, got tons of compliments... But long hair is easier for me.

I've had a bob for years. I've tried other styles but they don't look good on me. I have bangs too. I grew my bangs out and it wasn't a good look for me. I've had long hair but it's a pain to blowdry all of it (I have thick hair). Layers look like I closed my eyes and just chopped my hair myself. So a bob looks clean and doesn't take as long to blowdry. I do not like the stacked look in the back though.
