Bob haircuts are ugly!

Pixies look good on .05% of the population, and long hair only looks good if you have nice, silky smooth hair. Everything else is pretty much a version of the bob. Unless you want us to all go out and get a mullet or The Rachel, what do you suggest? For the record, I have had the same boring "just past shoulder length" hair for a decade.

Thank you! I was thinking something along these lines, but you put it much better. Hair can only do so much, given the way it typically grows and hangs down.

I think OP is being rude and overstating her point. True bobs do look great on some people.

For the rest of us, I've noticed that a bit of angling and layering helps make the look softer, more flattering and more current. Basically, a modified/updated bob that isn't as severe at the bottom.

But again, that more classic bob looks terrific on plenty of people. Just not me. (My hair is too thick and wavy, and my neck is too short. On me, a bob turns into "triangle hair," which is awful on ANYONE!)

yea, bob cuts are ugly. don't know if they do it so men don't get attracted to them or if they are lesbians...

Incorrect, an attractive women looks good regardless

Wait, is this DC Urban high schoolers? No confident, intelligent woman over the age of 17 gives any thought to what hairstyles are "in". They find what is flattering and works for them. OP, you are embarrassing yourself.

Oh, little high schooler, did you get restless during the big DCUM outage of 2014?

I'm proudly sporting a lightly layered bob and I'm probably prettier than you.

Just kidding. But I've tried my hair long and it just looks limp, probably because I never had time to dry it completely. No way to a pixie cut because my hair has no natural body or wave to it. And like someone else said, what else is there?

I'm biased since I have one, but I think most women look better with some sort of shorter cut that is actually styled than the long hair with no style that makes them look like they think they are still twenty or is constantly in a pony tail or bun.

The short, messy bob (Taylor Swift) looks great on a rich celebrity. On a regular person, hard to pull off.

Long hair is faster for me--put it up in a loose bun and I'm ready for work. That said, I'm wearing a shoulder-length bob these days, and I do have the straight hair and features someone said would look good in a bob.

Anna Wintour has sported her iconic bob for ages. I doubt she'd look better if you could see her neck. Or if you could see her forehead, for that matter.

This. I recently got my hair cut (about 6 inches- it is 2-3 inches above my bra strap now) . I got so sick of it just hanging in my face! I have been running the curling iron through it and doing loose waves, and it has so much more body and volume! I don't think I'll be going back to super long hair any time soon.

Is not every hairstyle a bob of some sor?
- unless you have a super short pixie or very long flowing hair - you have a bob!

If this blurb in Allure is any indication, bobs are not going anywhere soon (at least in the world of fashion):

Bobbed haircuts cover a wide variety of textures and lengths these days; it no longer means a Louise Brooks bob.

The long-winded PP who agreed with the OP has a recognizable tone and never fails to make me roll my eyes.

Did someone offend your lesbian sensibilities?

Why do women do this to themselves? I really don't understand the appeal. It is especially bad when the bob is super stacked and short in the back. There have to be other alternatives??!

You're an idiot.

Absolutely 100% idiot, probably has long hair and thinks all women should have the same as her. Dumbass!
