Funny thread - I've often wondered about some of the names.

What's wrong with Children in the Shoe?

I hate Bar T.

I know an old woman who lived in a shoe
She had so many children she didn't know what to do
She gave them some broth, without any bread
And whipped them all soundly and sent them to bed.

This is exactly the opposite of what I'm looking for in a childcare center

In my city there is a home daycare called "Our Sacred Space". Cause that is not at all creepy and cult like!

There is also a fantastic preschool called the Fine Arts Preschool. All the parents and teachers call it fap for short

In many years of going here, I've never thought of it that way. Should make for a great drop off tomorrow.

I like the ones which are just straightforward and informative: Tysons Corner Children's Center. Short, sweet, to the point. You got location, you got the mission. Done. It also tells me it is run by adults who can a) spell and b) not be too cutesy.

You would like working at our agencies then. We work for boring agencies which includes NASA's Goddard Child Development Center and the IRS Child Development Center. Pretty boring. I mean we have things like Space Camp and the Junior Astronauts program, you'd think we could come up with something entertaining.

NASA should rename their daycare The Little Launch Pad. And maybe the IRS's daycare could be called Dinky Deductions

Really? It's a classic nursery rhyme.

If you haven't heard the rhyme, then doesn't it seem like a bizarre name? Like why a shoe?

LOL

To be fair, it's a great center. I've known about the center since I was a kid at Murch in the 70's and had friends who went to the original version. But even then as a kid I thought "There has to be a better nursery rhyme to pick".

It looks like something a mall would put up every year in the weeks leasing up to Easter, call Easter Bunny Village , & have the line of kids waiting to sit on the Easter Bunny's lap weave through.
