As you can see from the comment you responded to, Jews are whatever people deem to be a negative. Jews might might not have been considered "people of color" (that term is a relatively new one), but they were considered "other" than white.

This is not accurate. Jews in America essentially started to be considered white after the Holocaust, when people began to see overt antisemitism as something they maybe ought to set aside, and by the time of the civil rights era, they easily joined white flight out of cities into the suburbs. Twenty years ago was... 2003! You don't think Jews were considered white by then?

I know they weren't. I'm Jewish myself. I remember very well when the change happened. After 9/11, there was a period of Islamophobia followed by an over-correction in the form of "white people bad, non-white people good". That was when I noticed that suddenly everyone was seeing me as white, but in the same negative way that they used to treat me as other than white.

Some people believe that Jews want minorities to replace whites in historically white countries so that white people can never repeat the events of Germany in the 1930s-40s. The idea is that Jews want the collective power of white people to be diluted. Diverse societies are less likely to unite. See the studies that show that diverse workplaces are less likely to form unions.

No, this is a conspiracy theory that goes way beyond the current immigration issue.
These people believe that Jews came up with ideologies like feminism to break down the nuclear family and keep white people from reproducing. The also believe that Jews push abortion, porn, hip hop, Hollywood, and all sorts of other things that have been blamed for people not living traditional lives and having a lot of kids.
It has nothing to do with illegal immigrants and asylum seekers from Latin America, most of whom are not the anti-semites Jews are concerned about.

This just does not at all match my experience of the 1990s or earlier or the period after 2001 (also Jewish). Jews were very clearly considered white long before the 9/11 attacks.

I also think you’re way overstating the extent to which people have decided “white people are bad.”

Either way, Elon Musk clearly doesn’t much like either of us, and nor do the people who are excited to pay to use his crappy website…
