It’s more complicated than that. Westerners don’t seem to know that when Europeans were busy killing and persecuting Jews (Spanish inquisition, Pogroms in Russia, Holocaust in Germany, etc..). Many Jews were living peacefully in Muslim lands (North Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia etc.)

People on the left don't hate Jews. They dislike the current right-wing government in Israel, and many of the people protesting this are Jewish.

PP here - as for people on the right, I have no idea. Just know that criticism of a government or its policies doesn't mean one dislikes an entire people. If someone does, they are the problem.

This is pretty much exactly what the Pittsburgh shooter said motivated him to murder Jews — we were importing immigrants so we could destroy white America. Musk thinks it's the "truth" that Jews have been pushing an anti-white agenda and bringing people to the country and now (ostensibly) we're cowering in fear because those immigrants are attacking us, or something like that — so (as is often the case) it's a conspiracy theory that is simultaneously antisemitic and also Islamophobic and racist.

What doesn’t make any sense to me is why would Jews be interested in having minorities replace whites? Jews are white?

Well, clearly white supremacists don't think they're white, judging by the tweet and the conspiracy theory behind it.

But if you're on the younger side, I can confirm that Jews were absolutely not considered white until around twenty years ago, when being white became a bad thing. As you can see from the comment you responded to, Jews are whatever people deem to be a negative. Jews might might not have been considered "people of color" (that term is a relatively new one), but they were considered "other" than white.

This is not accurate. Jews in America essentially started to be considered white after the Holocaust, when people began to see overt antisemitism as something they maybe ought to set aside, and by the time of the civil rights era, they easily joined white flight out of cities into the suburbs. Twenty years ago was... 2003! You don't think Jews were considered white by then?
