You have no idea what you’re talking about. Do you even know what WASP stands for? Look it up for us. |
You were doing well until you tried to talk sports. Both Wake and Clemson are in the ACC not SEC |
Please go ahead and teach us what WASP, one of the most common words in American demographic lexicon, stands for. |
Maybe 30 years ago, but no longer. My brother went there 10 years ago from NE and had a great time, in a fraternity, etc. . . And we aren’t even Protestant. |
This was the rep 25-30 years ago, too. At least that’s what one of those top colleges books said when I was researching where to apply. |
If a child wants to go into academia or be in the center of a big city, definitely should chose Chicago. An A student at Wake is going to have the same opportunities as an A student at Chicago otherwise. In fact, my relative who went to Wake went to a top 10 business school, my relative who went to Chicago did not even go to a t30 graduate program (biology). |
| Did either relative explain “anecdotal” to you? |
White Anglo-Saxon Protestant. I thought everyone knew that. |
| Yankees be so gullible. They think this southern school is exclusive. Upper crust southerners do not send their kids to Wake. Or Duke for that matter. Those are schools for Yankees who like to think they’re classy now. |
University of Chicago is #12 in terms of the percent of students who go on to get Ph.Ds, while Wake Forest isn't in the top 50 Ph.D. feeder schools. https://www.collegetransitions.com/dataverse/top-feeders-phd-programs |
Hahaha, that proves I went there, and that is what you should expect there. |
|
U of Chicago is a top university with global recognition.
WF is a great school but not in the same caliber. Salary after graduation is not an indication of quality of a university or the education you have received! You can make lots of money and don’t even go to college! |
And of just full universities on that list, #3 (as opposed to LAC). Basically Caltech, MIT, then Chicago with Yale/Princeton rounding out the top 5. |
True. The rich ones are Presbyterian fundamentalists who think god blessed them with wealth because they’re superior/chosen people. And they will be nice to you but they will never include you in their circle. A lot of the takes here are spot on even for today. |
| Did you see the Wake Med student injuring a patient for asking about her pronouns name tag? I think they're plenty woke down south y'all if that's what you're into. |
