UChicago vs Wake Forest

I lived in Winston Salem taught at Wake. Also went to school in Chicago. They are very different schools but every person in my class in Chicago was mugged except me. I wouldn’t feel safe with my DC at U Chicago for a number of reasons including personal safety.

I second the fact that many Hopkins grads go to Wake. My husband matched at Harvard and was their #1 choice. He turned them down for Wake residency. Harvard actually phoned him to say that it had to be a mistake and was extremely disappointed to learn that it wasn’t. He has no regrets! Wake is an outstanding school and their residency program is superb. If you don’t know it, open your eyes and expand your mind. It will serve you well.

I don’t know that UNC or any other school (since you’re claiming 4th best?) is “better” than Wake. Maybe name recognition because of sports. But academic strength? Lots of my classmates chose between Duke and Wake.

Eh, I think the student bodies are incredibly similar. A lot of people who applied to Davidson in my classes, as well.

Davidson is smaller, but draws from a very similar applicant pool.
