| This is great. Thank you! |
| Excellent rankings - and even better analysis - again this week. Well done - pretty spot on with everything once again. Agree Robinson scheduled themselves pretty easy slate for their own tournament but I guess most schools do same. Only quibble is might argue LB deserves slight nod over Yorktown given the tough schedule run through Concorde division they just did. Also might slot Oakton up slot since they just played #5 and #7 teams tight and beat Langley head-to-head earlier in season. But overall pretty accurate summary once again. Thanks! |
| One error, no rest for the weary as Lake Braddock plays at West Springfield tomorrow. I would guess margin of victory for LB may tell us more about WS. |
The logic to bump LB above Yorktown because of the teams they just played, makes no sense. Yorktown's schedule has been tougher up to this point playing #1 Robinson, #3 Patriot, #6 Madison and (former) #7 Oakton. I would say rankings look spot on! LB will get the chance to prove themselves when they play Robinson at the end of the month. Excited to see how that game plays out! Should be a good one! |
More that their recent schedule bumped their overall schedule strength up to even with Yorktown over the season (imo) - and they have better record to show for it. LB played Madison, Oakton as well as Battlefield (#2) and only has 1 loss (versus Yorktown's 2). Yes LB hasn't played Robinson yet - that will be good test for them. |
| A Lake Braddock Yorktown game would be great too, hopefully at playoff time. The scrimmage they had a few weeks ago was ferocious. I think LB won but it was a good one. |

I posted the rankings but I agree Yorktown and LB are really close. Three common opponents:
LB 11 Madison 6 Yorktown 9 Madison 5 LB 12 Oakton 10 Yorktown 12 Oakton 6 LB 13 Centreville 2 Yorktown 12 Centreville 5 LB 36 GS 18 GA (18 goal differential) Yorktown 33 GS 16 GA (17 goal differential) Yorktown probably got the slight nudge largely because they are defending State champs and have a better recent track record. I expect both teams to end the season 11-2 with losses only to top three teams so it is almost too close to call. |
Thanks for this. It didn't show up in the Laxnumbers schedule and I didn't check LB's home page to confirm. |
It was hard to put Langley ahead of Oakton but Oakton losing five straight and posting a losing overall record makes it hard to keep them higher. Langley beat McLean last night pretty easily and McLean just beat Oakton so I feel better now about Langley nudging barely ahead of Oakton. This one is basically a toss up too. |
Yep fair point on both above, agree both are toss ups and can understand why leaned certain way at this point. Overall rankings/analysis still spot on. Great job. |
I agree that it will tell us more about WS, since they will finally play a team that can catch and throw. This game shouldn't be close at all. I'll predict Lake Braddock 18 - West Springfield 6 |
| 15-4 Lake Braddock in a game that was a little more competitive, but an easy win for the Bruins. WS is definitely better than they have been in recent years. |
| Great continued work on the rankings. And thanks all for the score updates. It's really FUN to read these posts. Kudos. |
