Definitely recognize how much effort it must have taken each week and wanted to express appreciation. Was great to kick around public school HS lacrosse in such a level headed type forum. Made the season more interesting and developed appreciation for other 6A/B/C/D teams that may not have had.

Well done and sincere thanks - and look forward to either Season Wrap-up/Final Rankings OR Week 1 Unofficial Rankings for Spring 2023!

Appreciate that. The pay stinks but it has been been fun. I've enjoyed the thoughtful and largely polite discussions on the thread. Probably will do a final ranking but it gets hard during playoffs as teams get eliminated. Maybe a preseason rankings early next spring with crowd sourced input on key players returning and tough departures to replace.

Sounds good.

I’ve got Yorktown v Battlefield in final. Should be great last 3 games…

Don't count out Madison. In their last game at Yorktown they outscored Yorktown from the second quarter on. Either Yorktown eased up or Madison figured something out that they will use tomorrow.

Yorktown definitely has had some off periods during games (2nd half above, up just 2-1 vs Oakton at half, etc.) They’ll definitely need full game effort to get past Madison.

As the season progressed Coach Puhlick seems to have figured out how to beat Battlefield. I have Patriot over Madison in the finals

Battlefield 10 Patriot 9. So much for my prediction.

3OT game that saw Patriot erase a 3-goal deficit in the final minutes and each team with good chances in each OT. An instant classic and fitting 5th and deciding game. Congrats to both squads.

Wow. Congrats to both teams on the effort in this game and the previous four games. You’ve set a 2022 rivalry to remember.

Anyone catch Yorktown/Madison?

Madison 10-7 I think was the final. Madison led 8-4 and Yorktown cut it to 8-7 with 3 mins left, but the Warhawks got a couple late to seal it. Didn’t write it down, so might be off by a goal or two.

Awesome. So much parity this year it’s great.

Battlefield vs Madison. Any predictions? Hard to pick. I think both teams are riding high on adrenaline after their semis wins. I might go with Madison because they've played a variety of teams and styles, while Battlefield just had their epics games with Patriot. Battlefield might also be a little more tired. But who knows. It's why we have the finals! Congrats to both teams!

I think it is Battlefield's year...they keep knocking on the door and they get through this year. Battlefield by 3 goals.

Madison had a great game plan against Yorktown but now that is all on film and Battlefield will be prepared to manage the defensive looks that Yorktown didn't adjust to.
