So did you feel the same way as pelosi and her dems tried to recall trump via impeachment?? Under your logic, that was also a waste of time.

anyway.....tholen, please step aside. we will not forget all the poor decisions you made. Many of us who voted for you before will NOT vote for you again.

No one is “stepping aside.”

Ugh!
Omeish sucks but stop posting sh-t like this!!! What her family has done (or anyone’s family has done) is not the same as that person’s actions.

Omeish's father has a carefully curated and largely laudatory Wiki page, and even that page indicates he sat on the board of the mosque that hired Anwar al-Awlaki, and then subsequently defended al-Awlaki after he had left the country as having moderate views, although al-Alwaki ultimately was targeted for a drone attack by the Obama Administration for his links to al-Qaeda and terrorist activities. At a minimum, her father has shown poor judgment in his character assessments.

With that background, one might think taking issue with a School Board resolution acknowledging the tragedy of 9/11 would be the last thing that Abrar Omeish would do, and yet she did. That tells us that she's more interested in using her position as a platform to broadcast her allegiance to her father's political associates than representing the residents of Fairfax County.

She never should have been elected to the School Board - shame on those feckless Fairfax Democrats for allowing her to exploit their endorsement without intervening - and she surely should not be elected to public office in the future
.

Fully agree with the bolded but that is because she is awful NOT because of whatever her father did or did not do.

If she doesn’t want to be associated with her father’s positions and associates, maybe she should move out of his house and not show up at his high school (not hers) to give a speech to students urging “jihad.” Just a thought.

Then we will cast her aside at the next election!!!!

Elaine - do not run next time - if you do, you will be the target of our efforts. Do the numbers - 5000 people in Dranesville signed the petition. Many more did not sign but already decided to vote against you.

She still lives at home with her parents? Yikes

Why does this thread keep getting resurrected?

School Board members keep embarrassing themselves. That’s what they do.

Because we are done with Elaine. This thread may close, another may open, but we will not retire this issue until we retire her at the ballot box.

Also because the case is not closed. The plaintiffs filed a motion to reconsider based on new evidence about the prosecuting attorney who decided not to prosecute.

That certainly sounds like another conflict of interest that should have led Hingeley to decline the assignment. And the fact that Elaine Tholen and her attorneys went along with the charade, rather than insist on a Commonwealth's Attorney who would act on behalf of the citizens who filed the petition so that the judge could reach an informed decision, is troubling.

It's another reason why she no longer has any credibility in her district. It would be best if she resigned, and did so sooner rather than later.

We can now add "corrupt" to her growing list of adjectives. Deceitful and manipulative are my two favorites.

That's not uncommon with unmarried women of Middle Eastern or South Asian descent even in the U.S. Let's the parents keep a close eye, saves money while she gets her law degree, and then she'll move into her husband's home.

You always knew the fix was in when it came to the disposition of the Tholen recall petition; the only surprise was just how shameless the local party hacks were in making sure the “right” people were there to guarantee it wasn’t presented to the circuit court judge.

In any event, Hingeley, the Commonwealth’s Attorney who took over the case after Steve Descano recused himself, turned out to have just as significant a conflict of interest as Descano. He should have declined the assignment, and both his failure to do so and Tholen’s acquiescence in the charade stink. She is utterly tainted at this point.

What was Descanos conflict of interest anyway? The fact that he is also currently dealing with his own recall effort?

Tholen did not pick the CA. I think she is lousy and won't vote for her, but this is a waste of time. But more money for lawyers, so there's that.
