So he himself clearly says Mur-dock? I don't think I've heard him say it clearly in the news clips I've seen. Is that the common pronunciation of Murdaugh? I've never heard the name before.

Yes he clearly says Mur-dock. Alec Murdock, not Alex. I know this for sure because now I'm watching a CNN show about the case where he repeatedly says his name, like when he makes the 911 calls and when he is sworn in in court, and there is no doubt about it. Also, the news people on CNN say it correctly, Alec Murdock.

His name is Richard Alexander Murdaugh. I think he doesn’t know how to pronounce his own name. Best to stick with the backwoods nicknames

The owner of the name determines the pronunciation. Your preference is irrelevant in the matter.

I bet you're prejudiced about people who speak with a dialect other than yours.

Just remember in the end Maggie was running towards her baby.

With a bird in her mouth.

She had a bird in her mouth.

Maggie is the wife. You are saying a human woman had a bird in her mouth?

I think the dog, Bubba, has a chicken bone in his mouth that Alex was trying to get from the dog.

Some of the remarkable testimony from the trial:

“Because I can tell you for a fact that the person or people who did what I saw on June 7, they hated Paul Murdaugh and they had anger in their heart and that is the only reason that somebody could be mad at Paw Paw like that and hate him like that." Murdaugh

“That's powerful. You can feel it like the rain," to all the evidence and testimony against Murdaugh
I think he loved Maggie. I think he loved Paul, but you know who he loved more than that, he loved Alex - John Meadows

“She was running to her baby, heard that shot, and was running to her baby when she got mowed down," said Waters, pointing to the defendant.

Everyone who thought they were close to him; everyone who thought they knew who he was. He fooled them all," And he fooled Maggie and Paul, too, And they paid for it with their lives. Don’t let him fool you too - Creighton Waters

People are trying to understand what happened throigh the words and behaviors of a person with drug addictions. Can't be done. I'll add that the judge is one fine, intelligent, perceptive man, in addition to his credentials.

Yes. Wake up.

Do they think Maggie and Paul saw Alex shoot them or were they shot from behind?

He ambushed Paul (who was facing out toward the doorway) in the feed room, shot him once, then it looks like Paul stumbled forward and Alex shot him again (this is the shot that literally blew his brain out— it was next to him). Maggie ran toward the sound of the shots, then was shot at least two times backing away from Alex. She fell to her hands and knees and he shot her at least two more times, one in the back if the head. (I know she was shot 5x so there was a third shot either standing or down). Neither had time to put up their hands defensively. I wonder if Maggie thought a gun had misfired at first.
