The specific charge has not been disclosed.

This did NOT go to a Grand Jury. This was Alvin Bragg's decision.

The warning has been sent. Do not go into the jurisdiction that Alvin Bragg is responsible for.
You are not allowed to protect yourself or loved ones or even strangers.
You are not allowed to defend yourself.
Stay out of NYC.

I am one of the women who lives in NYC and takes the train frequently, and who objects on the basis of actual experience to people making light of the threat presented by unstable people on trains.

However: I do think charges are appropriate. I assume he won’t be charged with murder.

2nd degree manslaughter.
Carries a minimum of 1-3 years and a maximum of 10 years.
Ridiculous.
You can count on citizens standing down now when a threat arises.

After spending tens of thousands on legal defense.
And, I bet gofundme won't let him raise money.

He will be acquitted.

I think so too. Google Bernhard Goetz.

I guess strong young men should allow predators to attack women and seniors. The new way.

Who was physically attacked by the guy who was killed? Or are you just arguing Strawmen?

Good charge and he will be convicted. This guy’s disproportionate use of force was just as crazy as the man having a mental illness breakdown.

Think about it: this guy held a chokehold until the mentally ill man pissed all over himself and evacuated his bowels. And then he kept choking him.

Two loons met in a train. Sad.

Who was attacked by him- a seven year old.

Move to a red state for your own protection.

What was his punishment for hitting a 65 year old woman in the face? Why was he loose to prey on others?

Very sad that he will be charged and that it was an authoritarian decision by someone who probably never takes the subway.

After Alvin Bragg charged and jailed the bodega worker who defended himself against a violent attacker, I am not surprised he would charge Daniel Perry.
This sends a loud and clear message to NYers and anyone visiting NY..... don't get involved. Sure, film incidents with your phone camera, but don't dare try to defend another from a crazed lunatic.

Until I have an armed body guard, not going back to NYC, and I lived there for ten years.
