Exactly, no solutions for all the other 200+ rapes per year in Montgomery county. Head in the sand about the fact that 1 in 10 girls are raped by their boyfriends (or somebody they know) in high school. We don't want to mess up our white boys' future.

Makes one wonder how much outrage it would generate if the suspects were two white boys from Flower Valley.

It would generate an equal amount of outrage. Does that answer your question? Why do you keep posting? We care about all rapes happening in and out of our schools. This one is the final straw. And to throw your question back at you...what have YOU done to prevent the 200+ rapes reported?

Exactly.

I work with victims. I work with law enforcement. I lecture on safe dating. I work with crime reporters. I contribute to the safe dating initiative in MoCo. I work with family crimes.

I really hate the grandstanding of people who are trying to push an agenda.

I sit at home and know about all major crimes in the county then I see which ones are in the paper and in the news and how victims are portrayed or ignored. It make me a little sick. It is hard to go on day after day where people just don't care about people.

The New York Times editorial board puts this on employers, and our government, for not enforcing laws to hire legally. Many people on this board also need to take a long look at who they are hiring to watch their children, clean their homes, mow lawns, cater their events, home maintenance, etc... are you also contributing to the problem of keeping illegal immigrants here with cash payments and no questions asked? I'm just saying that we can't have it both ways: complaining about illegal immigration while underpaying immigrants to do jobs we don't want to do or don't want to pay a good wage for. This is happening up and down the employment chain, so to speak.

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/03/20/opinion/no-crackdown-on-illegal-employers.html?ref=opinion

+1. The real problem is the employers that want to maximize their profits by paying people sub-minimum wages, which they can do because the people are desperate and undocumented. You anti-immigrant posters like to bash on the Democrats but the previous administration was really cracking down on this with a one-two punch of: (1) the social security no-match letters and serious penalties for employers that didn't resolve no match issues; and (2) cracking down on misclassification of workers as "independent contractors" which is how all these employers get around the social security problem. The current administration will do nothing on the independent contractor problem, because the Chamber of Commerce doesn't want it to focus on this abuse.

+2 But, it's easier to blame the poor brown person than the rich and powerful. By and large, these are poor people coming here to work. If they can't find work, they will stop coming. That's not a hard concept. I'm betting that many poor immigrants from past generations would've entered this country illegally if they were not allowed in legally, oh, actually, that did happen. Go visit Ellis Island. There are stories about how some of the European immigrants lied to get in.

Once again, another deflector trying to stir the pot. We are talking about this REAL incident that happened involving illegal man immigrants in a high school. And lets tLk about the Flower Valley kids for a moment.... do they deserve to be in high school with this going on??? And how about their parents payong in the 6's for their homes while their kids are in high school with illegal adults? I think thoseFlower Valley families work hard with hopes of having a nice and safe community and deserve peace of mind that their childrens hs is a safe place.

+1 The deflection is preposterous. Of course bad things everywhere happen by good kids of all colors. But the circumstances of this event cannot be swept under by some liberal agenda. This girl's life was forever altered. Where is your outrage for her? You'd rather defend a savage criminal that ganged raped a girl in school who came into the country illegally, was already a criminal, couldn't say where he lived and was so brazen that he just stayed at school and went to his next class. Just sit back and reflect for once instead of climbing on your high horse.

Anytime someone brings up an issue that you don't want to deal with it is because they are racist. Ridiculous.

No it's just ignorant to think rape is an immigration issue, since you did not care about rape until it was committed by an illegal you are racist. Why don't you care about all rape? All violence against wome? Why do you only care when it is committed by an illegal.

Okay, let's stop 1 out of 200 rapes.. The other 199, not an issue.

Thank you for this post. It confirms that America has enough of its own problems to deal with, and does not need to add more human garbage into society.

I'm not sure why the 200+ rapes person keeps posting. Clearly it's to avoid having a real conversation about what happened to this 14 yr old girl. Obviously we care about all rapes. Obviously you can't avoid all rapes from happening. Obviously rapes happen on a regular basis and are conducted by men and women regardless of race. We get it. BUt this issue, this thread- is about the failure of MCPS to keep children safe by allowing a MAN, already with an alien removal status to enroll in 9th grade at a public school. How do you not understand the ridiculousness of that?

It only confirms that Merica won't admit it has a problem at home. It uses a red herring to push political agendas.

+1 It's easier to focus on the "other" and not the many problems in your own house. We have a gun problem in this country that has affected one too many schools. Yet, some people think the answer to that is more guns in school. SMH.

Which happened how many times in the last 20 year. Once.

Why do you want to put so much time and effort into stopping something that hardly ever happens but you don't want to put money and effort into stopping boys who have parents at home, are educated, speak English and still rape. Don't you think you have a better chance of stopping 50 rapes a year than 1 every 20 years if you just cared about rape and did not make this an immigration issue.

DP... there are indeed 14 yr olds who have lied about being raped. Not saying this is the case here, but it happens unfortunately.

For one of them, it's in the press release: http://www.mymcpnews.com/2017/03/17/two-male-high-school-students-charged-with-rape-of-female-high-school-student/

If you want the exact address, go here:

Then type in his name "Henry E Sanchez" and you'll see it there. Case number 1D00365744

This unfortunate event has highlighted the stupid MCPS policy that allows men to enroll in 9th grade. Are we suppose to just ignore that and sit back? We can do something about this NOW. By the way, do you believe that montgomery county tax payers now have to put up money in educating boys from English speaking, educated households to not rape? You don't believe that that's the job of their parents to do that? You're really off topic here. Please start your own thread.

Exactly. God only knows how many victims in our public schools simply didn't have the courage and support to report their attackers to the police.

I had this thought too, but people should realize that it's likely their previous victims were girls who are undocumented or have undocumented family members and we're afraid to come forward to make a police report. This is the real effect of Trump's crackdown--it makes it much harder for law enforcement to find and prosecute the criminals in that community because people are afraid to cooperate with authorities. This country had the same problem is hundred years ago, when the gangs were speaking Italian, not Spanish. ICE is making the job of local law enforcement much harder by going after people whose only crime is to be here and work without proper immigration status.

So therefore, we should have open borders. Yeah, right. You clearly don't pay real estate taxes.
