Black Ops for WSYL

Both teams played poorly all weekend...monuments and black ops advance at 14U, but they won’t be the best in July. Black Ops def better than monuments but if the teams were combined then DMV would do well!

If you combined the DMV then 1/3 of the teams would consolidate into one.

Assume he/she meant DC. And I would agree with U13 as well. Both teams about the same at U13. Our high numbers of holdbacks make it impossible for either team to have enough age eligible kids across multiple teams no matter which age group. It is a trickle down effect re developing kids. Hence, the DC area was the only area that had "tryouts" for this ie combining clubs (BO) or inviting other players from the lower grade team (ML). Every other team had enough players that are on age to just show up with existing team, or just admit you are an older team and don't show up (Crabs).

Wouldn’t it be great if by the time these kids got to HS there would be an event of all stars from the DMV? Then you could see who the best kids and regions are? Maybe get Under Armor to sponsor one or Nike? For now I think the WSYL should just stay club based the all star teams seem to defeat the purpose

You just described the Under Armor All American event.

Black Ops did exactly what they were supposed to do and that's advance. The game here was not to win the tournament, but advance to the nationals and then win.

What were the goal differentials between BO and MM? GF/GA?

That was my point and the new Nike Nationals

agreed, got UA and Nike for that going forward. nice thing is the DC based teams have really shown well recently in those events.

Watching 14U Black Ops and Monuments this weekend. I'd agree that despite the one goal loss to Monuments, the Black Ops team overall is a better team top down. However they will need to find some offensive chemistry to do well at Nationals.

Goal differential, etc won't tell the story as Black Ops advanced by being top 4 out of East. Monuments had to advance through the other side of the bracket by beating on poor competition. they had no problem and took care of what they needed to do.

No one at 14U got close to BBL. True Annapolis looked tough as well. NJ Express has a great goalie but beatable

Goalie was very good, but definitely beatable

Black Ops got the shots on cage they just didn't hit like they did against us when we played them at ML. Same shooter that hit on us, hit on them.

Position?

The U13 team will definitely benefit if they can convince the Virginia Lax Club kids to switch teams to DC Express. Enough Virginia talent to really improve DCE.

Is this the 2nd, 3rd of 4th thread you've written about VLC players to DCE?
