Friend's kid is October birthday. Was a soccer star until they changed the rules to make play based on birthday.

Oh then Black Ops and Monuments will both definitely qualify. I think Black Ops U14 has a shot to win the whole thing, and regardless of how you feel about the team it would be great attention for the DMV.

It’s all a money grab. But kids will have fun in Denver and have memories for a life time which is priceless. Enjoy it but it not going get them playing time in high school or a D 1 Scholarship.

Btw Iam parent of a 2022 D1 committed kid.

Congrats on the commitment. And yeah, they moved it locally to Maryland.

Have a committed child too, and I think this exercise is less about expecting that this earns them playing time in HS or even a D1 offer (not possible with the rule change), but more about helping the kids themselves see what they need to work on, where they fit, and just getting used to a bigger stage than what they have had at some of the tournaments, HoCo, etc. So totally agree that its important to right size expectations, but its just wonderful that the DMV has three teams entered in the qualifier not counting those around B'more. Great for the area win or lose.
