It’s pretty clear by now that the 10-year-old’s doctor, I’m sure on advice of counsel, that the answer was no, which is why she was advised to go to Indiana in the first place. |
“Law and order” means the real life application of Frank Wilhoit’s adage about conservatism: “Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.” Of course there will be zero consequences for these two lying busters (and the six lying busters on the court)! They’re lyin’ for the Lord! It’s all good! It’s the same reason that the PP somewhere upthread’s forced birth mother didn’t consider “good” abortions to be abortions at all. In group, out group. But if these dumb rank and file GOP women think they’re going to be protected forever, they’re official members of the Leopards Eating Faces Party. |
Shame PP isn't bright enough to quote the actual text of the law. |
Yes, the hospital didn't want the potential liability. The state needs to clarify to hospitals what the parameters are. On this we agree. The hospital made a bad call |
It's pretty long - there are a lot of exceptions. You are capable of looking it up and reading it as I did. |
The doctor's report stated the guy was 17. He was 27. |
The Ohio law has only two exceptions: “to prevent the death of the pregnant woman” or “to prevent a serious risk of the substantial and irreversible impairment of a major bodily function of the pregnant woman” That is it. |
The Ohio hospital’s lawyer was correct. |
+1 There’s no rape exception, or age exception, or “but she’s not a dirty whore so it doesn’t count as a REAL abortion” exception. |
Actually, the report said the age was unknown and provided an estimated age of 17. The doctor did not lie, she acknowledged that she did not know his age and was providing a best guess based on the information she did have. |
How do you figure the girl was entitled to an abortion in Ohio? What are you basing that on? |
I don't know what you were reading but here is the current law: https://search-prod.lis.state.oh.us/solarapi/v1/general_assembly_133/bills/sb23/EN/05?format=pdf But, as an earlier poster stated, the only exceptions are: “to prevent the death of the pregnant woman” or “to prevent a serious risk of the substantial and irreversible impairment of a major bodily function of the pregnant woman” "Two" is not "a lot". |
Why do you lie so blatantly? Do you actually think people fall for it, or is more like a compulsion where you can’t help but lie even though you know everyone will see through it? |
Anne that’s what we have now. Lawyers, not doctors, deciding if abortions are medically necessary. I’m a lawyer and I can 1000% say that this should horrify you. |
Too bad you can't -- or didn't -- read it, then. |
