This is terrible but the boy has it way easier. He has so many more options at every step of the way. He’s not the one going through pregnancy, so his body and routine stays the same. He can walk away or not. Once the girl decides to keep the pregnancy her options are done.

He cannot walk away. He is responsible for child support payments for 18 years.

With what income???

They will both need to get incomes. He eventually will not pay child support because he’ll have 50/50 custody

Yeah right. He will just work some low level job and send a few $ every month. Big deal.

The girl can't just "cut him out."

Sure she can. I've seen it happen many times.

And the baby's father took her to court and the court ruled against him having any visitation with the baby? Even though he was a loving stable father?

No teenager is a “stable” father.

Sorry. Very low bar in parenting if teen pregnancy is acceptable in any way or form.

Girl's parents of course. You have more chance of getting the termination.

Not true. The parent with the higher income pays child support even with 50/50. You clearly don't get how it works. And, if the mom has limited money or wants money, it will not be 50/50 as they will deny it over money.

No teenager is a stable mother...

I can get my daughter on birth control and demonstrate our values (ie, teens have no business having babies and I would support abortion if that happened). If my son gets a girl pregnant he has no say on abortion (rightly so) and there are no birth control options for him other than condoms.

Do you mean besides condoms and abstinence? How about don't have sex if you can't handle the predictable consequences thereof?

What a weird statement coming from someone who probably calls herself a feminist.

Are you under the impression that unacceptable things don’t happen with teenagers? The question is not who finds it acceptable, it’s which side would you rather be on if it were to happen.

The real beauty of DCUM is seeing someone trying to condescend to someone about a hypothetical scenario. My hypothetical child would never! All of your hypothetical children are trailer trash!

Abort, abort. No one wants this zygote to turn into a human being. You all are discussing who is less up the shit creek and the consensus is that the boy can abdicate and walk away from his responsibility. This would be baby is eliciting the same response as mexican kids in cages at the border. You all don't care so please be humane and terminate. you

It’s trashy to consider it, but not to post about it, apparently. Not sure how one reconciles those two things.
