Slightly O/T here. I have a FB friend who is a devoted lifelong Democrat in Charlottesville, VA. She is absolutely outraged that the democratic candidate for the House of Representatives, 5th district, coauthored a book that in my friend's opinion is antisemitic, white supremacist. The book is: Dangerous Liaison The Inside Story of the US Israeli Covert Relationship by Leslie and Andrew Cockburn.
Saw this in my FB feed today, so am sharing. |
Yes, slightly off-topic and could be fodder for another thread, but I do ascribe some of the rise of antisemtitism on the left to its strong anti-Israel sentiment. The two are often conflated, but worse, in SOME instances, criticism of Israel is worse than that for other foreign countries because it is mostly Jewish. |
| This thread causes anti-Semitic sentiment. So. Much. Whining. And if you had the great misfortune to read the earlier thread on Trayon, the whining is enough to make one physical ill. The Ward 8 blacks are worried about things like putting food on the table and finding employment. Trayon does a good job representing them in their eyes. A NOI guy shouted Jews are like termites after the event was basically over and now you want Trayon who wasn't even there and a Latino dude to lose their jobs? Probably 3 times a year a black yells something racist to me. So what. Do you ever see the white christians on here in hysterics? Pull yourself together already. The world is not always rainbows and unicorns. |
wtf. no. you don't get to say that. |
Right. Jews need to keep their mouths shut in the face of rising antisemtism, which is perpetrated by associations with Farrakhan and his lot. Nope. The only way to fight back against attitudes like yours - which is that prejudice against Jews is no big deal - is to nip that shit in the bud. And yes, the rally was held in Trayon's name, and he was asked to repudiate the hateful remarks. Why the F won't he do it? That he refuses to give into the Jews (which is how he views it) on top of his earlier behavior, is pretty damning. And YOUR diminishment of antisemtitsm, which is a lot more prevalent than you are willing to admit, is the problem. Your bigoted message is coming through loud and clear: bigotry is wrong when it's against blacks, but NBD when it's against Jews. Bigotry is bigotry. |
What does the fact that the dude is Latino have anything to do with it? You don't want a Latino to lose his job? WTF? You're now all into protecting Latinos, and to hell with the Jews? This again demonstrates "selective bigotry" - defense for some minorities and a WGAF attitude toward Jewish hatred. The Latino dude held the megaphone up when the Farrakhan lowlife spewed his anti-Jew venom where he could have just cut the guy off by lowering it. He did NOT. Through his action he condoned the hate speech. He WILL be fired. The DC Council needs to show that antisemtism, just like racism against blacks, will not be tolerated. |

The DC Council said nothing when Farrakhan was at Barry's funeral and you allowed Barry's supporters to put a statue of him in front of DC Council.
The chickens have come home to roost my friends. Barry was no friend to DC or to women. |
Bet if someone yelled the “n” word on stage at some rally in DC you would be the first to call for everyone’s head on a platter. So much hypocrisy. |
+ a million |
Farrakhan wasn't just AT Barry's funeral.....he spoke at it. And the DC Council voiced no objection. Maybe David Duke should speak at a conservative mayor's funeral. Let's see how that goes down with the liberals. |
Yes, sadly, that would illicit a reaction, or anything to do with Muslims would too, but not Jews or Christians, whatever race the Christians are. Christians in Africa and the ME suffer enormously, but it’s not really deemed newsworthy. Same with Ahmadis. I’m the atheist PP, and I don’t understand why some religions are protected and stood up for more than others. I personally think Religion is silly, but I believe truly in their right to believe as they do and live safely, as long as they are not harming others!! |
Your hysteria has impaired your ability to reason. That or you're simply an idiot. To people whose identities are not based on falsely portraying themselves as victims (the vast majority of people) your days-long whining about a stray remark is tiresome. People have existential problems and the fact that a NOI dude screamed Jews are termites is not among them. Do you hope to engender goodwill towards the Jews by your petulance and labelling people who do not share your view as biggots? And did you have anything to talk about before this non-event transpired? |
Are you able to read? |
Yep. Look at what 17:37 had to say. Jews who stand up to antisemitism are now castigated as having a "victim mentality." It's like some people want free reign to dump on Jews, and will quickly hammer away on Jews who object to bigotry against them, but can you imagine if someone said it's time for blacks and Muslims (or whatever minority) to drop the victim mentality? There is a very different standard for antisemitism, and it seems to be one of accepting it with one's mouth shut - or else. And the ironic thing is that a thread about a Farrakhan foot soldier's hate speech, and the city official who enabled him, are turned around to more complaints about the Jews. |
I have a great idea! Let's ask a DC official to go to a rally in DC, and she can hold the megaphone up for David Duke while he yells that blacks are lowlife scum. (Not quite as bad as termites, but not a particularly nice thing to day.) She'd be out of a job by day-end. Such hypocrites here is right. |
