| Just don't get married. Seriously. It's a lose-lose-lose..... |
Uh huh.

Wait, so she makes 3x your income, does more of the housework, AND it's incumbent on her to stay just as fit as you? Gimme a break. |
Many of these overweight women easily lose the weight after getting divorced. I've seen this all the time. Clearly it's a matter of basic motivation. If "fat shaming" is the wrong kind of motivation, what would you suggest? |
This is what I mean. The liberal agenda sucks for women. |
| The writer is a product of UVA... need I say more. |
She wiuld do all of these things even if she weren't with me. She's very type A, and split with a previous fiance because he wanted a sahm. |
Maybe you should spend a little less time thinking about your temporary corporeal body and more time on your soul. Will you enter the kingdom of heaven? |
Everybody ages, and yet men leave their wives for newer versions all the time. Even where they did everything "right." If the article is about staying pleasing and alluring to your man, there is literally nothing women can do about the fact that younger women will look like more attractive options to heir husbands. Eventually the husband has to accept some moderate decrease in attractiveness, or else keep trading in his wives a la Trump. |
"Oh no! All the fat married women are going to get divorced! Let's shame them into weight loss." Why are you so concerned about the marriages of fat women or about motivating married fat women to lose weight? Are you or your spouse an overweight woman? I'm not buying your fat-shaming as faux concern for the well-being of fat married women everywhere. |
My DH has lost over 50 lbs in a year exercising with me and it's a great couples activity without the kids. No more sleep apnea, no more knee/joint issues (does not need knee replacement) and no longer a borderline diabetic! So much more healthier and happier (he looks hot!) Can run 6 miles whereas before he was wheezing walking 50 yds uphill. I want him to live a long time and not end up in a wheelchair like his father and being a burden to our children and me. As you get older, being in shape is more than about looks. |

It is weird to me that she is making this a "feminist" thing. My friends are extremely conservative (Opus Dei and conservative Christians).
Most do not work out of the home and most are not attractive and do not "attend" to their looks. They think it is vain. They try to eat healthy and walk, but they are not (and are not expected) to stay skinny, fit and spend money on clothes. They are my friends because of how laid back they are and how much they don't spend time/money/energy on their looks. |
Oh yes, and all American women could look like movie stars if they just ate better and exercised. yourself.

I am pretty sure that while the lady was writing this article, her husband was somewhere, with someone....other than her, no matter how fit she is. |
