And guess what, there are lots of liberals just like me silently lurking in Trump waters but I am one of the few that will publicly admit it. He will win. The polls will never be accurate because even anonymously people won't admit to liking him or preferring him over Hillary if you will. And it's people like you OP that make Trump voters hide in the shadow. But they are there. And they are more like me than you think. Of course there are ignorant redneck asshokes who love him, and they are the ones who will be at the rally's, but there are plenty of educated, smart, good, not racist not homophobic people out there who think Trump is the lesser of two evils. Sorry!

Tell us what you hate so much about Hilary.

+1, I'd like to understand the hate for her better. Please cite specific examples, and not just "she's a liar."

And for the Trump supporters, please cite specific examples of what, exactly, you like about him. Like his actual ideas, not just his style or delivery like "he isn't afraid to tell it like it is."

I truly just want to understand.

She's a girl.

I have maintained a healthy set of friends on both sides of the political isle. I even have tea party and OWS friends. Politics has never, in my 40 years of life, ever been a negative factor in my relationships. This time, with Trump, its different.

How does one reconcile voting for someone who wants to ban people in the Muslims faith? Or register them? Aren't these views the exact opposite of our foundational principles of our country? Where would Trump stop in limiting our freedoms? What kind of person would vote for someone who would openly and enthusiastically promote such a policy?

I read somewhere that this reconciliation is similar to friends who are on opposite sides of the prolife/choice debate. How could a prolifer be friends with someone who believes abortion isn't murder? How could a pro choicer be friends with someone who doesn't value a woman's right to make decisions about her own body? I'm a pro-lifer, but my thoughts on the issue are more on the policy. Not the person. I've met people who have had abortions, and empathize with them and their decision to do so. Whether not I agree or disagree, there are valid points on both sides of the debate. This is not the case with many of Trumps views. There is no "middle ground" in banning or registering Muslims, for example.

This has probably been rehashed on here many times and I'm not going to go into Trump bashing mode, b/c its not constructive. I just want to know how others who have friends who support Trump, but who do not agree with Trump's views, reconcile this internally.

How does one reconcile voting for someone who is not concerned about the violence Muslims have wrought all over the world? Who would let people into the country improperly vetted, especially given the chaos and sexual assaults in Europe? The foundational principles of our country include sovereign borders and the rule of law? Who can vote for someone who does not respect our Constitution?

+100 I get so tired of their idiotic views that sound like they are in elementary school circle ring doing kumbaya. "The US should allow anyone who wants to live here should be able to" "We have to make everything about race" "we have to apologize to the US constantly..." "We are the worst nation ever on the earth" "We should change the names of all of our roads, monuments, dollar bills and bathrooms ..." and so on. It is intolerant and ridiculous.

Do you understand that every single point you just spouted - Every Single One - is actually an outright stereotype spoon-fed to you by conservative media and right wing activists? Are you really this gullible?

Then why is it the CNN liberals who spout it ?

You are letting the new coverage distort your thinking. Islamic terrorism is covered disproportionately because that's what people here are interested in, and that's what boosts ratings. Just like CNN's 24/7 coverage of Donald Trump. That's what people are interested in, but there were more than 10 other Republican candidates running at the same time, as well as Bernie (who got almost zero coverage) and Hillary. Oh yeah, Martin O'Malley. I almost forgot.

Objectively speaking, though, who is hurting Americans the most here in America? Other Americans. And most aren't Muslim. And most aren't illegal immigrants from Latin American countries, either. If you want to effectively target resources at making the country safer, you need to start with home-grown violence.

Public policy can't be dictated by headlines. Headlines are sensationalist and shallow, and often incorrect. You have to look more deeply than that. Be smart, not scared.

I do not know if it is possible. the sides are so split and entrenched in their views and each has its own news source.
People who don't like HRC think she is a liar and a criminal. Those who like her believe 100% that the whole thing is made up, or doesn't matter.
People who love Bernie think that the other two are just lunatics. And people who don't love Bernie think he is an old grampy socialist who never did much.
People who hate Trump think ... well its been covered. But Trump supporters think that "saying something" is not the same as 'doing something" or 'doing nothing but talking" Each side holds tight to their own perspective and they are not moving.

I do not agree with everything he has said. Yes, he has said things that make me cringe or gasp and some of his ideas are out in left field. But, I have yet to find a candidate that I agree with on everything. The difference is that most of the other candidates are not as provocative.

But, I cannot vote for Hillary. I disagree with almost everything she stands for and I truly believe this country will be in worse shape in 4 years if she wins.

So, I have come to terms with the idea of voting Trump. I have friends and family who will not vote for him because of what he has said, and I have friends and family who are eager to vote for him - they, also, do not agree with everything he has said.

I also believe that the media has blown up a lot of what he has said and made it into something it isn’t.

I don’t have any problem being friends with Trump supporters. Because, I know most of them are like me.

Regardless of his nonsense about Muslims and Mexicans, doesn't the thought of giving Trump the nuclear codes keep you up at night? Can you see him working with foreign leaders? Do you really think he knows ANYTHING about foreign policy? Do you really want a president who calls people names like a schoolyard bully? I guess what shocks me is how people cannot see how juvenile his behavior is. You wouldn't accept that behavior from your own children. Why would you accept it from your president?

Seriously...I'm not a huge fan of Hillary, and maybe you are right that she will be a meh president, but you are willing to roll the dice with trump??? It's like playing Russian roulette with the country's future. He knows so little and evidences so little curiousity, not to mention the bullying, bigotry, etc...

News flash Hillary is a bully and a bigotry also. All we hear from her is women this and white men that. Attacking one gender or race is wrong. Ask anyone what happens if you do not fall in line with the Clintons....they have enemy list and they punish people. So you are ask to pick between two candidates that a like. The difference is Hillary has shown her judgement sucks. Why keep going with a person who alway picks wrong?

How is Hillary attacking white men? By trying to ensure equal rights for non-white men and women?

same here. I'm Syrian, and I utterly loathe hearing how "Obama is the greatest president of all time." It makes me angry actually. So I just never talk politics except with family. All of you who think Trump is Satan, and Obama and Hillary are saints, must be ignorant about world affairs.

What is the relevance of you being Syrian? Are you implicitly criticizing Syria policy? What do you think we should have done about Syria? Obama's policy has basically been to perpetuate everything his predecessors did, with the exception of Cuba and Iran, which I think were both positive. And apparently your family disagrees?

What if you think Trump is Satan but Hillary and Obama are just so-so.

How am I ignorant? What is incorrect about what I said? I know Donald has taught you communication-by-insult works, but it really doesn't.

Syria is a mess. Every faction involved has a ton of disturbing baggage. I don't think there is any US President who could have sorted out the Syria problem.

And of course it's a lot more complex than "Obama" given the region was destabilized by overt causes like the Iraq war (which to remind you predates Obama), along with a host of less obvious causes like the Turks damming up rivers upstream impacting farming and other uses downstream in Syria and Iraq, causing economic instability and a breeding ground for hostility and prime recruiting grounds for militant organizations.

But go on, hate Obama and pretend he's the sole cause of everything. Whatevs.

Exactly.
When they can't offer factual rebuttals, insults and inanities are the way to go.
