Friendships with Trump Suppporters

Anonymous
I don't know anyone who actually likes Trump or Hillary. Fact is they are both awful. I could not listen to anyone praise either one of them because they are both despicable human beings. Fortunately there are millions of other more interesting topics to discuss so it's pretty easy to talk about something else.

I do not agree with everything he has said. Yes, he has said things that make me cringe or gasp and some of his ideas are out in left field. But, I have yet to find a candidate that I agree with on everything. The difference is that most of the other candidates are not as provocative.

But, I cannot vote for Hillary. I disagree with almost everything she stands for and I truly believe this country will be in worse shape in 4 years if she wins.

So, I have come to terms with the idea of voting Trump. I have friends and family who will not vote for him because of what he has said, and I have friends and family who are eager to vote for him - they, also, do not agree with everything he has said.

I also believe that the media has blown up a lot of what he has said and made it into something it isn’t.

I don’t have any problem being friends with Trump supporters. Because, I know most of them are like me.

You have come to the idea of voting for a man whose is loved by both China and Russia . Two countries whose antipathy for this country is second to none . If China and Russia ruling class say nice things about a presidential candidate , you should really be concerned if you love this country like you claim.
You're voting for a man who ran a ponzu scheme with his trump university and defrauded individuals of money , you're voting for a man with zero legislative , executive and foreign policy experience . You're voting for a man whose bigotry shouldn't even be contested at this point . You're voting whose contempt for International treaties will most certainly guarantee worldwide instability the size of which we haven't seen world war 2 and you see nothing wrong with that ?
You say the nexus blows up what trump says , but you fail to provide an example . Typical idiot . Trump is America's 21 century version of hurler and voting for him makes you a bigot. Either you view yourself as such or not

With Hillary, the USA continues on. With Trump, the USA could be over.

I cannot stand Trump. But, Hillary has actually done some pretty awful things. Her style is better--but her actions are proven to be poor. She has thumbed her nose at the American people.

Details please

I actually think Hillary gets a bum rap. She been under attack for 25 Years, but here she still standing, while so many of her attackers fell in their own scandals. Not that she is any kind of saint. But saints don't make good presidents.

When you are very frightened, you fall back on your basic survival instinct - see threat, get rid of threat. So Trump promises to get rid of all the scary foreigners. That makes the frightened people feel safer.

So don't be angry with your friends for falling for Trump's comforting BS. Pity them for being consumed by fear. And don't talk politics with them until after the election.
Trump voters also fear being raped and robbed by Mexicans and African-Americans. They want the 50's and 60's back. This goes far, far beyond foreigners taking jobs.

+100 I get so tired of their idiotic views that sound like they are in elementary school circle ring doing kumbaya. "The US should allow anyone who wants to live here should be able to" "We have to make everything about race" "we have to apologize to the US constantly..." "We are the worst nation ever on the earth" "We should change the names of all of our roads, monuments, dollar bills and bathrooms ..." and so on. It is intolerant and ridiculous.

Do you understand that every single point you just spouted - Every Single One - is actually an outright stereotype spoon-fed to you by conservative media and right wing activists? Are you really this gullible?

Then why is it the CNN liberals who spout it ?

Cites or STFU

Regardless of his nonsense about Muslims and Mexicans, doesn't the thought of giving Trump the nuclear codes keep you up at night? Can you see him working with foreign leaders? Do you really think he knows ANYTHING about foreign policy? Do you really want a president who calls people names like a schoolyard bully? I guess what shocks me is how people cannot see how juvenile his behavior is. You wouldn't accept that behavior from your own children. Why would you accept it from your president?

My guess is this is why Kim Jung Un endorsed him

same here. I'm Syrian, and I utterly loathe hearing how "Obama is the greatest president of all time." It makes me angry actually. So I just never talk politics except with family. All of you who think Trump is Satan, and Obama and Hillary are saints, must be ignorant about world affairs.

God Bless your country and her people. What an all-around travesty

How many lives and trillions of dollars have been lost because of those perceived transgressions . America voted twice for a former alcoholic , so called Christian who never achieved anything other than being the son of.Unlike your lousy steak peddling , spray tan wearing hero. Hillary has substance and experience . Logically with such longevity in the political trenches there will be some hits and misses. But unhinged she's not , unapologetically bigoted she's not, ignorant she's not ? Reckless she's not . She's the next president deal with it

First, NEVER said Trump was my "hero". As a matter of fact, I cannot stand him! I have posted on these forums before that I cannot believe that --in a country this size-that these two (Trump and Clinton) are the best we can do! Agree that Trump is a terrible candidate. But, you say Hillary has "substance and experience". Yes, and it is proven that she has very poor judgment. Repeatedly. Some "hits and misses" far outweigh any accomplishments. There were lots of things not included on the list: CGI is another extremely questionable activity--again, not only does is demonstrate greed, but also judgment. Sorry, but her actions are far beyond "hits and misses".

Hillary has proven poor judgment. Do I think Trump is better? Don't know. I'm still waiting for a Knight (or Lady) in shining armor to swoop in and save this coming election. There has to be another option.

Nope. Your choices are Trump and Hillary. Sorry, I don't like it either. But, if you want to see a real case study of poor judgement and greed, just look at Trump's background. The only mitigating factor is that only screws people dumb enough to trust him. He's a terrible businessman. He inherited his wealth and then proceeded to earn money by buying overpaying for businesses that he ran into the ground. Read the story of Trump Airlines. He paid himself a big CEO salary and left his investors holding the bag. He did this with his casinos too. What do you think he will do to this country?

Clinton is no better. Go read about Bill and the for profit university. Hillary's business dealings in Arkansas are certainly troubling, too. As for judgment, we do not know how many CIA agents were outed on her server--but their are redacted names. We still don't know what was in her emails. There is a troubling gap of emails about Benghazi in the preceding months before 9/11/12/ where there had been lots of emails about Benghazi earlier. Were they deleted? We don't know, do we?

I don't hold Hillary responsible for failure to respond to Benghazi--I think that falls on DOD and the White HOuse. If they weren't prepared, that also falls on them. Brennan held briefings (according to WH website) about preparing for 9/11/12--what was in those briefings.

It takes someone with very poor judgment and a very cold heart to lie to the parents of the dead. Why did she do that? That is beyond the pale of judgment and sensitivity.

So weird that people can go on and on about this.

I don't believe I know anyone who will vote for Trump. If I do, they've kept it to themselves. I wouldn't maintain an acquaintance or friendship with anyone who did, and therefore won't discuss it with anyone in any case.
